Disney Pins Backs?

I'm thinking my 7 yearold would like to do the pin trading thing this time at WDW. We've bought him special pins in the past, as trip souveneirs and we'd probably leave those at home--I thought I'd get him some from eBay or the like for trading.....I've been looking at Ebay at some lots but haven't bought any yet.

My first question is how do you keep them secure? Those little black "mouse"backs don't seem to stay in real well. I'm sure once my 2 1/2 year old sees her brother with his landyard she' s going to want one too, but I don't trust her with the pins unless I can find something to secure them on a lanyard better.

You can purchase locking pin backs. There are little brass cylinders that have a screw in them...you lock them with a tiny allen wrench that comes with the package. I can't remember the price....around $8 for 6. Happy trading.

I use the locking pins for the ones that my DD7 doesn't want to trade (or I don't want her to trade)! The ones she trades I put the plastic backs on, this makes it easier to take them off when it's time to trade

I'd definitely purchase the special pin backs. DD 5 lost two pins at Epcot.

they were kind of a pain for the traders. as we got ones we knew we would keep we would put them on. occasionally we changed our minds. we only kept a few on the lanyard and checked them frequently. we only lost one but had a few where we found no back etc. did well when we started checking them more. I think more of our probs came from son playing with them...at which point my hubbie put the locking ones on his. he was 5.

Where can you buy the locking backs at? I used to have some really cute pins but I always manage to lose them since the backs would fall off.
