Can anyone tell me where the best place is to get disney pins for my little girl before we go... she is almost 4 and can't wait to trade pins.. I would love to buy several on ebay in I guess you would say a (lot or several in a auction)... I just can't figure out the real ones from the fake ones.... does anyone know where I could buy like 5-10 for a decent price before we go? Thanks for any advice... we can't wait! sch17@bellsouth.net :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

You might try checking at your local Disney store. I've bought a couple of pins on ebay, haven't had a problem with fakes but you might pay a little more than buying them at parks. If you are flying into Orlando, there is a Disney store at airport that has good pin selection.

If you don't get what you want before you go, you can always get her a "starter set" once at WDW. We did this with our son. They come in different themes with a nice lanyard, 8 pins, a "gold" mickey pendant and some sort of little card that hangs on the end. My son really loved it! The "set" was $50-not bad with 8 pins. If you want it to be a surprise, you could always hang it in your room once she is alseep your first night there-maybe on a stuffed animal you buy the first day. Nice little surprise! Well, just a thought!

the official Disney pin traders site, http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/index will give you some info. There are pins available from the disney ebay store and from www.disneyauctions.com This is a good site, I have ordered from them with no trouble. They sometimes have started sets for sale as well. Their pins have the official Disney Auctions stamp on the back and I feel are the same quality as park pins. When we went last October my girls decided to start trading. We let them pick a starter lanyard from the kiosk at the WL. They were walking around not knowing really how it worked when this man walked up to them. He was the hotel manager I think, he had a lanyard on with pins on it. He knelt down so that the girls could look. He asked them if they saw anything that they liked. Of course they did, but were reluctant to give up their newly purchased princess starter pins. He was sooooooooo sweet, told them to each pick a pin and it was his gift to them to get them started. Great marketing tool, we probably dropped > $100 on lanyards and pins on that trip alone, no to mention the subsequent trips that we have made in the past year. It's fun but can become addictive, even I find myself entranced by some of the pins that are out there. Have fun! I don't believe that the Disney store is carrying them now. Once you arrive at "the world" if you have time stop in at the Pin Traders store at DTD, they have pretty much every pin that is out there right now.

I have bought from mousepinsonline.com and from an ebay seller harval1. You don't want to by the sedesma (spain) pins. They are tradeable in the park because they have disney stamped on the back but they are not the same quality.

I think that ebay is the best site to buy ins from but to make sure that they are real make sure that there is a picture of the back of the pin. If the back of the pin has the disney logo on it and says disney than it is real. Have fun in disney when u go!!

do they have pins at disney stores - I am in canada, I know they dont have disney dollars available so maybe not pins here either ?

We often buy Disney pins from ebay sellers. We try to make sure the pin is around $3. Usually we have to buy a large quantity of pins to keep them around $3. Be hesitant to buy the 2000 logo pins. They are really cheap, but they are hard to trade. Most of the CM lanyards have them on. A CM can only trade for a pin they don't already have. I also stay away from Sedesma pins. They are cheap and look it.

We have purchased pins on ebays several times. I usually try to stay around $3 per pin. Do a search for "Disney pin lots" and search by lowest price. Stay away from anything from Spain or Sesdesma. Anything that looks too good to be true, probably is (pin lots of 100 mickeys for $5) I usually try to buy sets of 7 to 10. Watch the auctions and wait to place your bid until the end. I have found ebay to be my best bet. Pins in WDW are just to expensive for me and I usually get a nice variety. My 5yo DS loves to trade and usually beats me to a CM. I have seen CM trade kids even when it is not a "Disney" I was talking w/ a CM and she told me they just throw those out at the end of there shift. Be sure to look for the CM's w/ the colored lanyards they only trade to kids. Here are some of my favorite pin sites:

No they no longer sell pins at the Disney store. I buy all of mine from e-bay now.

For the 50th celebration, most lanyards are gold. There are still a few green ones out there specifically for children.

that is nice they still have a few for children.. I know my little one will love it.
