I have been waiting and waiting for a pin code to arrive (we got and used our last one in the summer of 2013 for free dining in October) and it finally did! I was so excited. But after looking it over, it appears that it really doesn't offer much more than has been available to the general public for some time now.
It is for a 30% off deluxe hotels and some sort of lesser, non-specified discount for moderates and values. I presume it is the same offer that has been on the Disney website for some time.
It also offers free park hopper upgrades, but it says only a minimum 5 day ticket (and we usually only buy a 2-3 day ticket).
The Park Hopper option would be about a $128 value for me and my daughter, except we don't usually buy park hoppers because we like to do one park a day (it is a challenge to travel between parks with small children, and we also enjoy our resort time).
The offer does not provide any additional room discount not available to the general public, and it does not allow us any pre-general-public booking opportunity.
It would only:
Provide us with complimentary park hoppers (which we may or may not use, and which would require us to purchase a package and at least a 5 day ticket)
AND
Possibly allow us to book discounted resorts not generally discounted to the public (like POFQ and All Star Movies)
Am I missing something? Have I misinterpreted the offer or the value of the offer?
I'm not complaining. I am still happy to have gotten my pin code. Makes me feel special. I just don't know that it is enough to motivate me to book another Disney trip this summer.
Are there other pin codes for the summer out there that offer free dining or better discounts?
