Has anyone ever used the DVC discount to have a family picture taken? My trip in 1/2005 is going to be a family reunion and I was thinking about dragging everyone for a family picture. I know that DVC gets %10 off the sitting fee, but does anyone know what the sitting fee is and what it includes? I can't seem to find any info on it. Anything would be great!

Thanks to all in advance for your help. I know I can count on getting the info here.

We looked into it - I think it was about 200 for the sitting fee, and of course if you want to do it in the park you have to pay for the tickets I don;t remember exactly what it included, but I remember thinking that it was comparable to a family shoot here in New York City (and that's expensive!)

We did a photo session back in the Fall of '02 using the (then) Disney Club discount.

The session can take place at just about any location on WDW propertly EXCEPT MGM Studios. You get full access to a photographer for one hour. He will take as many photos as you want for that period of time, and you get all of the proofs as part of the Sitting Fee. I believe that they are now posting photos on-line so that you can access them electronically, but that service was not offered when we had our session.

One of the nicer settings is Epcot. The photographers have access to the World Showcase before it opens at 11am daily. So, in an hour's time, there is ample opportunity to take photos in at least 3 different international settings.

If you pick the Magic Kingdom, due to the crowds, about the only place they can really set-up is in the rose garden with the castle in the background. That probably makes for the most "Disney-ish" photo, but realistically you could probably get as good a photos buy asking a passer-by to use your camera.

We elected to have the photo session on our check-out day, and just did it over at Old Key West. We had about half of the photos taken indoors near the bookshelves in the registration building. The rest were out on the porch to give us that "outdoor" background.

I understand the Grand Floridian, WL and AKL are also popular resort locations.

Our experience was very favorable. Yes, it was a bit pricey. But the service was top-notch and it was nice to get some photos with the entire family--our son and my parents included.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone taken photos in the photo places at the park? Can you tell me about that. I remember there is a studio on Main Street at MK. Anyone have any info about that?

Disney Photography?

Lillasmom, I haven't used the Disney photographers in the manner that you have inquired about; however, I did hire them to take photos during my anniversary dinner party last Fall. I thought I would at least post a link to a few of the photos that they took so that you’d get an idea of what to expect. I need to warn you that the photos that are posted in my on-line photo album are low-resolution ones – Disney’s real photos (high-resoluation) look much better. Click here for on-line photo album. The bulk of the photos in that album were taken by Disney Event Productions (you can tell which photos I took – all the bad ones!).

I hope my photos give you an idea of what Disney can do.

Thanks Janet2k, your pictures look great. it helps to know what to expect as we try to think about whether to spend the money. My grandmother will be there and I'm now sure how many more opportunities we will have to do a big family picture so all the info helps.
