Disney phone lines---long wait

Does anyone know by chance why the wait on Disney phone lines are so long right now?? We have called both the toll free AND main reservations and have waited and waited until we finally have to hang up due to...well....just can't wait any longer. I was thinking at first that it had to do with the holidays in December, but we are way past that 180 day mark, right??

So, is the call volume that high right now, or is main reservations understaffed?? Is anyone else having this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm sitting on hold right now to see if I can apply this new discount code to our reservation! I have about 1/2 hour before I will need to hang up so I'm going to wait it out a bit. Otherwise, I'm not sure when I'll get back to the phone! Best of luck to you!

I was on hold for almost 45 min this AM to apply the discout code to my trip in November and I'm so glad I did!! We saved $508 woo hoo!! Mousesavers.com has codes as does themouseforless.com

There may also be higher call volume as a result of the all day computer outage 2 days ago.

And I am going to sound a bit naive here, but what exactly are the discount codes?? Are they for new reservations only or can you use them on existing?? We will be at WL inner courtyard Oct. 14-21. We are on dining package as well. Is there anything we can take advantage of as far as these discount codes?? If so, will it change the status of our existing reservation?? We have three rooms reserved.

You can head over to the Codes and Rates Forum....but I believe the codes are ZBG for non-dining pkg's and ZBH for dining plan pkg's. I just saved $430, and didn't have to do anything(we're going end of October) because I use Magical Journeys. When I woke up, they had already emailed me and my discount had been applied.

If I'm wrong about the codes, got Mousesavers.com...they'll have them

I jsut called around 11:15am (eastern time) and waited about 18 minutes to get a reservation agent. It only took a couple of minutes to make my reservation with the new public code and then I was done. I didn't think that was to bad.

I got a "passholder advance notice" email yesterday about the codes, but didn't read it until this afternoon. But I was lucky! I called at 2:30, had no wait at all, and they applied the discount to my November trip. After calling, I also checked online, and there are NO discounts available on my dates online. So maybe I got the last discounted rooms available for my dates!

How do u check the discounts online? all i get are 'regular rates' am in in the right area help!
