Has anyone used the kennels on any of disney properties. there are 4 or 5 i do believe and would like to have a review. :love:i just cant leave them at home.

We have never used the Kennels at WDW, but I heard that you have to feed the dogs and also walk the dogs. I would call them and ask them. If you are lucky, maybe you could have a good neighbor to watch them.

Good Luck

Understand the feeling as I am leaving 2 myself.....

Now that Best Friends has taken them over I am wondering the same thing. There are several hotels close by (Days Inn MainGate is one) that allow pets if you would consider staying off-site.

Try this link: http://www.wdwinfo.com/tips_for_touring/kennels.htm It mentions "extra walk" (which would lead me to believe there might be a walk included. I am going to check into that Bonnett Creek facility as well.

Here is the info from Best Friends Pet Resorts' site re the MK kennel. It sounds like they will walk them and you can pay for extra walks. I am seeing the Bonnett Creek resort may not be open until sometime in 2010 but not sure when. There are kennels at all the parks but two of them do not offer the same amenities (according to some other site). So check the Best Friends site and check each park's kennel. One is at the Transportation Center so you can use that for both Epcot and MK.

i am just so worried about the dogs. Dont know what to do, researching off site. So far, residence inn seems to be the best reviews. Thank for the input.

We have used the kennels at WDW 3 times, and during our last trip, we found an off-site kennel (at a vet's office a short drive away) that was comparably priced, but they would do all of the walking and feeding for you.

We prefer to see and pet our 3 dogs, so we chose the MGM kennel the last 2 trips. They are more reasonably priced (as all of the kennels are 3rd party vendors at this point, I think...they were moving to that in 2004, and the MGM was privatized in 2007 and 2008). One of our pooches got sick during our stay, so we had to treat and board him at a vet (which is how we came to know of that kennel/vet). Dr. Ackerman's number is (407) 847-4472 (for rates and info). It was only like a 5 minute drive from Downtown Disney.

The kennels were clean, and the staff were friendly at the 3 kennels with openings during our trips. (That is another concern: they do book up just like the resorts, so call early for info or a reservation). The kennel chosen determines the services offered. The pets remain confined in the back of a location with limited access doors (they buzz in 2 people per pet max.).

The kennel that we chose required us to feed and walk our dogs, but we preferred that anyway. It is all about what you feel are your vacation needs and what your budget will allow.

Good luck and have a great vacation!!
