Disney Parks Shopper - still a thing?

Hi there - there used to be a service where you could "hire" someone to go do some shopping for you in the parks and they would ship it to you. Anyone know if that is still a thing? My son bought himself a hat he LOVED last week at World of Disney and then it was stolen in security at MCO on Saturday. He was devastated (he is miserly and frugal and it took a lot for him to part with that 40).

I just called and they will only replace if I have the original receipt and do not allow me to order over the phone and it is showing out of stock online. But World of Disney had TONNNNS of them.

Just wondering if the personal shopper is still a thing, and if anyone has someone they recommend? Thank you much - would love to replace this for him

Most of the ones I've ever seen that do personal runs to the parks and Disney Springs are on Facebook. As with anything like this, a lot of research is required to make sure it's a reputable shopper. There's a website that's been around for a while called Your WDW Store that sometimes has popular park merch. If it's a newer hat, they could have it on there. eBay is another option as a lot of shoppers also cross post popular items. I can't recommend any...but these are just angles to take to find a replacement.

I FOUND the receipt when I got home from work and I called back and not only are they replacing it - they are replacing it for free. I sobbed, 2x. Lame, I know, but just a nice magical continuation of our vacation. The last 24 hours were ROUGH due to a ton of issues at the airport, including the stolen hat. And Marie from Disney Parks and Merchandise just sewed up those sour spots.

My son put the hat, his backsack, his shoes, his wallet into the bin to go through security. The bin got pulled after getting scanned because he had a water bottle in the backsack. But, as it came out of the scanner, the hat was gone, everything else in place. The TSA agents (2 of them) looked all over for it and nada. Not sure if someone behind him jacked it, or the TSA agent who was watching it all did. But, shady shady. He was so, so, so sad.

I agree - if it had fallen off IN the scanner, I assume they would have seen that. I cannot recall who was behind us, but since we got pulled off to the side due to the water bottle, there was time for some to have grabbed it and walked off while we were waiting. It was just really discouraging. My kid is so frugal and it took him ALLL week to decide on which hat to spend his money on. And then it was stolen 2 days later.
