OMDD winners were told that they could not add dining packages to their trips because it was a promotional trip and not a paid trip. I would think that the same would be true with this new contest. Winner also can't upgrade rooms due to promotional and not paid.

Could you add on dining but pay for it yourself?

No. We were told that the dining package could not be added on even if we paid for it ourselves. The dining plan has to be linked to a paid room reservation and since the winners were not paying for the room, the dining plan could not be added. That's why we were given $1,000 gift cards- to cover our meals.

When I won OMDD, meals were not included but we got $1500 in gift cards and we used those for meals, shopping and incidentals. We charged everything to our room and then used our gift card to cover the charges when we checked out.

I can't remember...was the OMDD prize promoted to include a $500 gc, but you all ended up receiving $1500?

It was advertised as $1,000 gift card and choice of a few different things. One of the options was a $500 shopping spree at DTD but for those of us that chose that, it was just another $500 gift card. So when we checked in, we got one gift card for $1,000 and one gift card for $500.

Anyone know if you can upgrade the 5day park hopper for disneyworld ,and what the cost would be. I am dvc owner want to stay an extra 3 or 4 nights on points i am sure that will be ok , but was wondering if anyone upgraded tickets and how that worked.

Had a dream last night that we won and stayed at GF. Funny thing is that's not where I would stay! Lol I mean, I would take it of course but my night dreams seem to be different than my daydreams

Was reading the rules again. Says something about if you have a felony that they might disqualify you? ( I don't have one but curious). What if you do have one and have changed your life for the better- they can still take it away. Sounds like a bummer!

This is what is stated in the official rules--
hotel accommodations (one standard room/quad occupancy, including room tax) for four (4) consecutive nights at a Walt Disney World® Resort hotel selected by Disney in its sole discretion

From what previous contest winners have said, choices will be offered, possibly based on availability for the time you select to travel.

When we won a trip they sent a questionnaire re: when you want to travel and it listed all the Deluxe resorts and asked you to mark your top 3 choices in order. Our 1st choice was Poly and that is what we got. They did put us in Theme Park View

You get a standard room, quad occupancy. If you want another room, it's totally at your expense. They will send you a questionnaire asking for your 3 hotel choices, but that's as far as your choices go.

I have not done one yet because it is so time consuming! I know that 1 or 2 of us have started one but I'm not sure that any of us have completed one.
