Disney parking

Hello all,

My family and I are heading to Disney World in September. We are renting a house and would like to leave the park and return home for lunch, then return to the park. Will we have to pay another $11 for parking upon returning or does paying the first time cover all day?

You're covered for the day at any park. Just show them your ticket when you enter the parking lot.

Also if you go to one park in the morning and pay for parking and decide to go to another in the afternoon, you're covered too! Just show the second park your parking ticket from the morning.

We stay off site for a month every year. One of the things we do is order our ticket(s) from AAA and get the Diamond parking ticket. We get annuals so when we don't need to buy tickets I ask on the DIS boards if anyone has one and I've been able to cajole AAA to sending one to me a couple times. I've seen them being sold on ebay but there is no way I'd pay for one. They're free. I give it away when I'm done, too. Then upgrade the ticket when we get to Disney. The Diamond parking ticket makes it a lot easier.
I've had friends who did the sandwich thing. And we have, too, a few times.
Personally, I like going to get a lunch off site or going to the house for lunch. Taking a nap and swimming in the pool (or the other way around) gets everyone cooled off, worn out, rested up and ready to go back to whatever park for some more rides and the night parade or show.

Thanks again! However, would you mind explaining what the AAA Diamond Parking ticket is exactly? I've never heard of it before. Thanks!!!

When you purchase your tickets through AAA you get parking up near the handicap section. At Epcot it's all the way to the left of the parking. It's an easy walk to the front gates. The only places it doesn't help is Downtown Disney and the water parks.
It's simply a paper you put on your dash and show the parking attendants.
It doesn't make parking free but it does get you better parking. We love it!
