Disney park tickets?

Hi all,
We are planning a Disney trip in the Spring of 2012, but I've heard I should buy tickets before the end of 2011 since Disneyworld part ticket rates will go up in Jan. 2012. Is this accurate based on previous years?

Also, can anyone recommend a place to get the best prices for park tickets? They will be 6 days, park hopper ones- two adults and one child.

I know there isn't much discounting in park tickets, but where can I save a bit of money?

Normally Ticket Price increases always go into effect on a Sunday. The earliest Disney will usually announce the increases is late on a Friday afternoon.

The only people who know in advance are some managers and high level people, the programmers for the ticketing computers, and the people who make signs and printed materials.

Often many of us who sell tickets find out when we come in and find that the prices on our terminals are changed, and the sheets we have in the booths to show Guests their choices are new.

For several years the price increases were in early August, but this past year they were in June.

I always try to buy my tickets as early as possible to avoid the price increases. I like to look on www.orlandoattractions.com, www.undercovertourist.com and www.orlandofuntickets.com. To fully compare, I go all the way through checkout to see what the taxes and shipping and handling charges are. If you sign up for newletters from mousesavers they provide deals and special codes sometimes. If the budget it tight, you may want to consider not getting hopper passes. You can upgrade them to hoppers for $55 each at Disney, but you need to access a park with the ticket at least one time before adding the hopper. Else Disney may charge you the delta os what you paid for the base ticket and what they sell them at. As long as you have used them, they will only charge the hopper fee.
