:surfweb: We are planning on heading off to Disneyland Paris to use our DVCbonus points  and were wondering if anyone has been there and can give some helpful tips. Any info on the resort or train service to Paris etc would be helpful. Thanks!!:donald: :mickeyjum :dumbo:

We took the train from Paris, it's about 30 minutes, very easy. It was during our vacation to England. We only went for the day though.:sad1:

We live in Belgium, and so we drove down. The the train station is right in Disney Village, so it'd be an easy train trip.

We splurged and stayed 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel for 70 pts per night, but it was awesome. The rooms were large by European standards and the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Also, a free hot breakfast was included and you can't beat the location.

Next time we'll probably do the Sequoia lodge as the pool area looks like fun, and of course it's less points!

Remember your stay will include your tickets for the length of stay so if you check in on Sunday for 2 nights, you'd have tickets Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

Oh and there's a Wild West dinner show that's supposed to be really good. I didn't get advanced ressies, and they were closed on the evening we wanted to go. Next time I'll probably try to reserve that in advance. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions!

Hi,

Disneyland Paris is great.
It's fun to see the differences between the parks.
Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, etc all are very different, plus there are other rides you will not find at WDW. The MGM studios over there is also nice.

I have only gone for the day, three different times. You just take the RER from Paris directly there.

Have Fun

Hi,

I have been to DLPR 6 times, staying onsite, so if there is anything you would like to know, feel free to ask and I will do my best to help.

Using points for Disneyland Paris no longer gives you park tickets. The rules have changed from january 1st, and you now have to buy length of stay park passes from MS when you ring to book your hotel with your points, or they won't book for you. The amount of points needed per night has gone down.
I was quoted $150 per person for 2 night 3 day park hoppers, and everyone has to have one.

I bought into DVC in October and we weren't told anything about this happening, even though I had specifically asked about it, as Paris is the park we go to most, living in the UK, and I was told that we would get passes included with all points bookings. I then find out, when I tried to make a points booking, that this had been changed pretty much as soon as we had signed on the dotted line.

If for some reason you don't need or want length of stay passes, MS won't allow you to book a room.

Wow, I had no idea! I bought in October, and went to DLP in November, and I didn't hear a word about this upcoming change either! Thanks for updating us. If all the UK folks complain about this maybe they will change it back for 2009!

^ Interesting. That explains the lower point values at many of the DLP resorts for 2008.

It's kind of frustrating for DVC members though that they won't let you book past May 15th, 2008 currently. I wanted to book a trip in July at Sequoia Lodge, and don't want to book the plane flight until I have the trip dates confirmed.
