Disney Palace Pets and the Princess's at the Park?

I have seen these Palace pets at Build a Bear but wondered do you think the Princess's at the parks are up to date on this as well? Like if I talked to them and asked them, "How's your palace pet such and such" do you think they will know who I am referring too or do you think Disney doesn't give them classes with up to date references and current trends about their characters?

Ariel, on our cruise, knew about her palace pet. It was pretty cute.
I wouldn't count on all of them knowing everything
