Disney or RCL??

I love Disney too, but I would choose RCCL. I have been hanging out on the RCCL board (lurking mostly) on cruise critic just to learn about that line. I am trying to convince my dh to book a 4 day RCCL for the week before our 7 day Disney next summer. He is wavering, so it might happen. I did consider canceling our DCL and going with RCCL during the same week, but it would have been more expensive since we got the rebooking discount on DCL. I really want to do a Freedom class ship and my kids want to as well. So, we are now looking at 2010 for RCCL.

I sure wish I could cruise every 3 months. I want to try all the ships.

So how does the food, dining compare? We thought the food on Disney was excellent and I enjoyed the three dining rooms. I'd sort of miss that. But that ship looks amazing!

I think the food in the DR is comparable to Disney. I didn't like our service on Disney because my kids were just one of a million on Magic so my kids seem to be pampered more on RCCL.

I like that there are more dining options on RCCL. And on the Freedom class, the kids can go to dinner with Adventure Ocean at Johnny Rockets (3 nights on a 7 day cruise) if they want.

Just remember that there are THREE of those ships, so you don't have to limit yourself to Freedom.

There are Freedom of the Seas (launched in 06), Liberty of the Seas (launched in 07) and Independence of the Seas (launched in 08). All 3 of them look EXACTLY the same. The difference is the color or bedding and Independence has heated pools because it sails in Europe and comes here for the Winter.

We have done 9 Disney cruises, and this year, for finacial reasons, we took RCCL's Liberty of the Seas.......

Fran, thank you so much for that link! It was beyond helpful, I actually found it earlier today and read the whole thing and am convinced going with RCCL will be a winner. Now I just have to figure out what sort of stateroom to book!
