Disney online dinning reservations only.

I heard something about Disney going to online dinning reservations only unless you have a party of 8 or larger. I don't make many reservations by phone but I do alter some dinning reservations now and then by phone. I guess it's an expense savings. Can someone confirm if this is correct?

Follow up question... would this pertain to dessert parties as well? I want to book one when my window opens but want to use a gift card which they do t accept online.
