Hi any tips for disney on the cheap?

We are going again in 2007 but just wondered if anyone here had any tips for the cheapest place to book holiday etc...thank you for any advice!

Cheapest deals, go off peak! either book a charter fly drive package last minute or scheduled flights if you've got a flying club membership, or fly indirect, basically when you see a good deal BOOK!! do not leave it or it'll disappear, you can stay off site in Kissimmee or Maingate in a travel lodge style motel for less than £20 per room per night, they often offer free transport to the parks etc.
Try and work out what you think is a reasonable price and be aware that the three major expenses are Flights Park tix and Hotel, you can eat cheaply if you want to and not spend on souvies.

let us have some more information.. i am sure there will be some good advice here.

Are you staying on site or off? What parks do you want to do? All the disney parks? Universal? Sea World?

What type of accomodation do you want? Will you be hiring a car etc?

How many of you are going?
What is important to you?
etc!

Hi

We always go off-peak - usually October November time. The weather is still good and the flights are cheaper - particularly if you choose November. We also book each element of our trip seperately - i.e. car hire, hotle, tickets, flights. We use the internet and book on line. We have never had any problems. We did not go for the expensive hotels as all we did is use them to sleep so it doesn't matter too much to us if they are not 5 star luxury.

Having said all this, we now own DVC so things ar a bit different but the only thing we don't book now is accommodation - the other stuff we still get as cheap as possible!!!

HI
I dont know if i manage to do it cheeply(not sure its poss!) but i def saved money on flights and hotel.
I booked my flights through airmiles( much cheaper than virgin direct), spending 5 nights at Residence Inn-Seaworld(£52 through BA- TA quoted $200 p/n??!!)
2 nights a universal( rack rate currently, but hoping it will go down)
4 nights at BWV( renting points through a DVC owner- saveing $$)
3 night cruise( through TA , currently $300 cheaper than on web and the price is still going up!)
then finally 2 nights AKL( booked directly but again i'm hoping it will come down!).
You can look up best deal for tickets from this sites and again make some savings.
The issue for me with Orlando from the Uk is that the flight is the bulk of the cost so you can never do it very cheaply but you can do it nicely for less!?. let me know if you need anymore details. best wishes, Ruth :sunny:

hi
charter flights through a1 travel
car hire through allstatescarhire.com
hotel through diala flight quality inn main gate west for £16 pounds if you just want a basic but very clean place to sleep about a mile from disney maingate.
eating if you don't want posh ponderosa, golden corral, sweet tomatoes for buffets, dennys, perkins.bob evans and ihop basic sit down meals.
we have just taken a 14 day break which cost £500 each including spending money.we didn't feel we were missing out on anything - just depends on how budget you want to go everybodies idea of budget is different - it means we can afford to do the same in january though

Remember late August is a very slow time for Disney etc, so we Brits with kids can visit at a cheap and very quiet time.
There are some good offers then, DD and I got free dining at WDW with our acommodation this Aug.
We always book our flights ourselves, use an American TA, such as Dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and take it from there.
There are lots of great buys, good luck.

I would have to say that there is no such thing as Disney on the cheap only cheaper!! :rotfl: We've picked up fly drives for as little as £129,hotel for $39 per night, always get a car seperately but there is no getting away from the cost of passes!! Ever since our first trip,we only went with £500 & done 2 timeshare presentations to get passes (never again!!) we have said that we would only go if we didn't have to worry about what we had to spend on food etc.

Stay in nov it's a great time get lots of xmas presants booking early can save some money too and stay in a villa if you book direct with the owner (www.vrbo.com) you can get a good deal on that too.

Cheers
