We are taking our 8 and 2 yr old DD's to see Disney on Ice this weekend. Has anyone ever been?

Is there any interaction between the characters and the audience?

Thanks!

Teresa

Yes,

Recently took DS (5) to Disney on Ice, in preparation for taking a Disney Cruise!

Which one are you going to see? We saw the one with Snow White, Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Dalmations...

There was not what I would call 'Interaction' with the kids in the audience. Most of the show is scripted and taped with the voices and the music ( The skaters 'skate', not 'do voices' ):D Of coarse, the show is directed at the kids in the audience, and the cast members skate around the arena so that everyone feels included.

The first half was fantastic! Great sets and effects for Snow White! And, Sebastian, who was the real main character/star of The Little Mermaid was just incredible! Do not know how anyone had the stamina and skill to skate like that, in that costume, thru a whole 20 minute piece, nonstop!!... (and just wait till you see the last of Ursula!) The last half was very short...

One word here for your 2 year old... There is emphasis on the villians in each piece. If your little one is easily frightened or overstimulated- then just be aware of this beforehand.

Hope you all enjoy the show!

100 years of magic has audience participation in the finale, you can go up nad interact with them all1 :)

Thank you both for your replies.

I'm not sure which one we are seeing. It just says "Disney on Ice - Disney Classics".

Thanks for the warning about the villians. Hopefully she won't be too frightened.

Yep, I think you are going to the same one we saw! You can tell by the picture on all the ad's and posters. this one has Snow White, Mickey and Minnie, and the Dalmations. I was glad that this is the one that came to our nearest town, as I wanted our son to see the classics much more than others like Bug's Life, Lion King.....

Check out Disneyonice.com. You can find out more.

So, looks like you have a good idea on what to expect!! Maybe you will get lucky and get the Character Interaction. Didn't really get that here, but you can keep your fingers crossed!

I wish that we had bought DS a pair of the battery Mickey Mouse ears with the Marquis style lights running circles around the ears... they were way cool, and would have been great for our cruise next year.

wishing on a star - Unfortunately there was no character interaction, but it was still a GREAT show! Both girls had a wonderful time!

Thanks :)
