Disney On Ice???

I wanted to know if you have been to Disney On Ice.

Did you like it?

What are the expectations?

I am trying to see if I should go see Disney's On Ice they are coming to Houston in Nov. but I don't if I should go if I don't have any kids.

Can anyone give me advice.

Yes! We did watched 2 different shows.
We especially like the 1st one. This was the World of Fantasy I believe. Very nice! We love it! It's worth to bring kids to watch this Ice Shows. We chose the very 1st night show b/c half price off for the best seats (not the VIP though).
The 2nd one was bad. This was the Disneyland Adventure. The performers fell down at least twice while skating on ice. Not really enjoyed! We would not recommend this show to anybody. Too many characters in 1 show!

Nemo & Little Mermaid should be good too, but we saw the live shows in MGM Studio at Disneyworld, FL instead.

I've been to Disney on Ice more times that I can count. Lets just say for a lot of people it's the closest you can get to WDW or DL without actually being there. It's nice and very colorful. I actually just purchased 5 tickets for the show after Thanksgiving in NJ - Celebrations.
Try it at least once!

We saw the princesses and Incredibile. Show were great and really held the attention of the kids. Be prepared for the expensive treats and souvineers.
We had four free tickets and the night still cost us $100

I LOVE the Disney on Ice shows! Went to my first one in March, then to another one (in another town) in April, and just bought floor seats for one the Sunday after Thanksgiving! The pp is right, the food and drinks are ridiculous!!!! Very expensive! Like the slushies were $12ish...but they were in really really cool mugs. You have to think of it as buying the mug and getting the slushie for free.

Our seat were decent for the first show and awful for the second so I'm SO excited about getting floor seats! Since we did enjoy the show so much, I figured it'd be worth it. And like someone else said, it's as close as you can get to Disney without actually being there.

We took our DS13 to several Disney On Ice shows when he was younger. It was a lot of fun. I would recommend seeing the show. Just don't recommend seeing the show on Thanksgiving morning like we did.

My husband and I just went 9/20 to see Disney On Ice. He thought it would be a great birthday gift for me. Go to the show and enjoy yourself.

Thanks for all your advice I will go to the Show. I am thinking of buying the VIP Tickets. It comes with food figure I will spend a little less on food since it is included.

We also saw the Disneyland Adventure show in Pgh and the skaters were really bad. The show was good and entertaining. Even my son and his friend commented about how many times they fell....even Buzz fell which was a huge let down.

This was sort of our impression too, only I wouldn't say it quite as favorably. If you can't get to WDW, then it's sort of like WDW mini-express when you can't get to the real thing. They even have character greets set up, and merchandise for sale.

It was fun for a Disney fix, but it isn't as nice as going to WDW. For us, it makes sense to skip the ice show and just save those pennies towards a trip to WDW. If a trip to WDW isn't onthe horizon, then it's worth doing.

I could certainly see that many folks getting to WDW is a major challenge for a wide host of reasons: gettting time off, how far you live from WDW, having it in the budget, not liking theme parks, etc.

On another note - another 'Disney-lite' idea is to see the Christmas Carol Train that's on tour. Again, it's kind of a big ad, and Jim Carrey's voice in promo-speak kind of got annoying to me towrds the end....but it was free, and was interesting to see the money that was put into the promo. The free preview was the best part. Others might say it was also just a big ad, but it was kind of neat. If you happen to live near one of the remaining city stops, and you happen to have the time, it's kind of a fun way to spend a few hours.

Our little dose of Disney - thats why DS and I are going next week at the Phila show; special Mom & son night out!!) We have been to a few before, there is always a scary scene, i.e.; Ursula, Jafar that would scare the wits out of my kids when they were younger but they loved it anyway!

I've been to a few Disney on Ice shows and I love them more than my kids do! So Yes I think it's something you can go to without kids! I'll have to remember that next time they come to town. Maybe have a date night with Hubby!

Celebrations was pretty good. There are some neat lighting effects they do. You should have a good time.

We saw Worlds of Fantasy last year and 100 Years of Magic last month. Both were great!

We went to Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy last year and DS loved it. I have to admit I loved it too!

I've gone to Disney on I ce once with my daughter and Once without and loved it both times ! Now the thing with kids is that they dont care what seating they get. All they are about is that they are within yellin range of some of thier favorite charecters! When I went without my daughter I was able to get closer seating to the rink and was able to relax a little more. Also you dont have to worry about spending rediculous amounts of money on every lite up toy thats selling.

My best advice is to also check the web for discount codes for your venue i was able to get great seats for half off just by doing so.

Wow so many different opinions. I think Houston's Disney On Ice has the 100 yrs of Magic. Has anyone seen that show? What are your opinions on it?
