Disney on Ice: Princess Classics

Has anyone seen this show yet? If so, what did you think? I have VIP tickets, first row, any chance the characters will go around to say hi to the kids? Are Mickey and Minnie there? Are there any seats that have an obstructive view on the VIP level? I'm going Saturday (Reliant Stadium, Houston, TX ) with my niece who loves Cinderella! Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We have been to several Disney on Ice shows and at all of them Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto have opened the show. Also, the characters usually interact with the kids seated down on the ice after the show. Have a great time!!

We saw this show in Philadelphia a few years ago. It's a GREAT show! Your seats sound really good, so I'm sure it'll be even better. I'm 99% sure that Mickey & Minnie came out in the beginning and end. And yes, the characters have some time during the show that they mingle/say hi to the crowd (and I'm sure the front row gets the best of that!)

We went last year when they had it at the Compaq Center in Houston, or maybe the year before. Anyways... It was a wonderful show and I'm glad Disney didn't overprice this event like everything else. We will be going to the Saturday show at Reliant as well. Bring a sweater!

Saw the princess on ice at the US Bank Arena and the shows preformers did interact with people seated on the floor level. It was a very good show, however it only lasts about 1.5 hours.

We just saw this a few weeks ago in Reading Pa. We also had front row seats, about 5 feet from the ice. It got to be a little chilly, so bring a coat. My daughter was in her ariel costume and refused to put a coat on. By the end of the show, her little teeth were chattering! About the show, it starts out with Mickey, minnie and Goofy opening the show. Then it went in this order: Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, Mulan. Then it was intermission. After intermission, Mickey and Minnie came back out and talked a little about Cinderella, then the whole second half was the Cinderella story. At the end, when Cindy gets married to the prince, all the other princesses and princes came out intheir white wedding attire, then Mickey, Minnie and Goofy came out in White wedding attire. From there all the characters bowed and went to one side of the arena and shook hands with the kids. My daughter met Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White. Unfortuanely, her favorite, Ariel, was on the other side of the arena. They only stayed out for like 10 minutes tops, then they all went behind the curtain and the lights came up. All in all, in was a great show. Not very intricate, fancy, skating, but the basics and all the "princesses" looked the part. They also mouthed their parts to the music. The best characters were Anastasia and Drucilla...they were hilarious! My daughter didn't want to leave after it was done. BTW, take lots of money! They have merchandise everywhere! We bought a cup with a sno cone in it and it cost $16.00! Cotton candy was $6 and a small bucket of popcorn was $8. We also bought a light up wand, and it was $16. Whew!

I think you will have a blast. If your daughter has a costume, wear it. There were not that many little girls in costumes, maybe 5 or 6, and my daughter got alot of extra special attention becasue she wore hers.

Thanks everyone for such great information! I'm trying to convince my niece to wear her Cinderella Bride costume she wore for Halloween but it all depends in what mood she is in that morning. I really want her to have some character interaction so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. I'm so excited for her!!

YES, have you daughter wear a Princess Gown, all he little girls did at our showing....it was adorable!
My 2 Princesses wore one of theirs; 7 yr old was Belle and 4 yr old was Snow White. Precious !
My girls were bummed when it ended and wanted to come back the next night to see it again!

Saw the show in Cincinnati. I don't have any little kids just 2 big kids 22&25, we all went! The show was fantastic! All the characters interacted with the audience especially down close to the ice! We all loved it!!!

We saw it in Philly in the beginning of Oct. this year. My niece is 5 and although we were in the nosebleed high up as you can get section, she said "Look, Cinderella just waved to me!" It was really cute, she really believed it too. You will have a great time being close to the ice. I second the fact that you should bring $$$. They have such cute souvenirs (sp?) but they have the Disney price tag. HAve a great time!

Well, to those who are interested, here is a short summary and my opinion of the show.

We went Saturday at 3:30p.m. I had my 4 year old niece and my SIL with me and we had front row seats. The seats were great except when they used the smoke. It got a bit cloudy down there and at times it was hard to see what was going on, but luckily it cleared quickly.

The show started with Sleeping Beauty, followed by Aladin, then Mulan, then Little Mermaid, then Beauty and the Beast, followed by Snow White and finally Cinderella (I think that's the right order). It was all ready cute and my favorite part was seeing the 7 dwarfs from Snow White. They are so cute!!! Dopey waved at my niece and she was thrilled! Mickey, Minnie and Goofy were there as well and came out at the beginning of the show, at the beginning of the second half and then at the end. The show lasted 2 hours with a 20 minute intermission.

At the end, if you are down on the floor section - VIP, the characters came by but I must say I was a little disappointed with the interaction. They weren't out for more than 3 minutes and it was all really quick. Belle did take some time with my niece (who was dressed as Cinderella...she was sooo adorable) and Mulan and Mickey came by quickly as well to just say hi.

If you're going, be sure to take lots of $$$$. A shirt for a child costs about $15, a medium size Dopey cost $20, a wand that lights up cost $16 and a cup with something in it cost $10. My niece wanted everything so we left with a pretty large bill. Oh, they do accept Credit Cards at the souvenier stands which I thought was nice. They also have two (that I saw) locations where the kids can take a picture with a Cinderella background or with a Beauty and the Beast background. I'm not too sure how much those cost though.

Overall though, we had a great time. Seeing my nieces eyes when she first saw Mickey and Minnie and when Cinderella finally came out was priceless. She didn't stop talking about it and as soon as she saw her dad she told him how Belle came by to say hi to her and how Mickey shook (more like he brushed) her hand. It was precious.

For those of you who are going soon, enjoy it, it's a great show!

As a former Feld Entertainment lighting technician I've sat through a lot of ice shows and, even though it's target audience is mothers and daughters, I have to say that the princess show is one of my favorites. It's a combination of a fast paced story and good use of the performance space (from both a technical and artistic standpoint). And it's always so cute seeing the little girls dressed to the nines as their favorite princess. BTW, Houston was always one of my favorite cities to play!
