I haven't read the book, but I read another review of it and they said the same thing.

yeah, what did you see that seemed incongruent. I had thought about buying this one. But in all honesty, I am getting so many great suggestions from the DISers, that it seems silly to spend any money on advice! :rotfl:

I posted a review a few weeks ago....

A WASTE OF MONEY! (And if I ever see that family pool hopping at my resort I am turning them in! That is one of thier great money saving tips... Stay at the roachbag hotel and swim at Disney)

My personal favorite incorrect fact was to reserve the room starting on a value season date and then just check in a few days late... NO, that won't get you the "value" season rate and as a matter of fact you can wind up without a room. When you don't show hotels cancel the reservations.

And the "menus" they suggest to save money...LOL! Apparently you could not have thought of making sandwiches in your room without thier help (Scarasm intended!)

They are big on Priceline and they say you will get a room for about $20 to $30 with FREE breakfast. A few problems here... one PL rooms have not been going that low for a while and two there is NO guranteed free breakfast with a PL reservation...

Save your money and just read here!

Much of the advice on saving money on food was pretty much OK, but all things that I have read before here and elsewhere.

The inconsistencies:

- even though the publication date was October 2005, there were quite a few items that weren't up to the latest info: ADR's still at 90 days, still said that you could get your shopping packages delivered directly to your room ( I realize that the 180 day ADR changed just happened Oct 28....)

- Very inconsistent regarding packages and tickets/room only - also seemed that it wasn't well edited between Dream Maker and Magic Your Way changes - still referred to being forced to purchase tickets for length of stay, which of course is a dream maker UPH concept which no longer exists.

Also seemed to suggest that you should always do room only with separate tickets, could save hundreds of dollars this way, but couldn't prove it in the book.....at least not to my satisfaction.

Some other just downright wrong info:

- Deluxe resorts have different prices on weeknights than on weekends; values and moderates have consistent pricing; so if you are going to do a split stay, do the deluxe resorts on weeknights!

- ADR's put your name on top of the list, they don't guarantee you a table....

I could go on and on - but won't.... don't waste your money.
