Disney offering future stay package program. Would you do it?

I'm watching this information closely myself. I too just returned, so missed the promotion. If the promotion is successful it may be extended and our next trip is in February. I've been pricing out packages so that I know my numbers just in case I get the offer too. Yes, I agree, this looks like free dining, but under a different name. With Disney offering this package, plus the free dining to our UK friends, makes you wonder if there will be any other packages released, and if so, what the availability will be after everyone else books them first.....

I think I'll wait to see what other specials they offer.

anyone know if this promo REQUIRES that the park tickets you puchase with the package be for the length of your stay or if you just are required to purchase as a one day one park ticket for each person in your party to get the package?

(this is the way the free dining package worked this past year. you were required to puchase park tickets to get the package, but you only had to purchase a one day one park ticket, irreguardless of the lengh of your stay in order to get the free dining for the length of your stay. Very handy for us AP holders.)

DH is rstamm, who posted on page 2. When he called yesterday he was told that it only required a one day ticket. We're getting APs for Christmas this year, and were very happy to hear about this promo. We had a fabulous time during the free DDP promo this year and had already decided to take a vacation at the very end of September next year year if another free DDP came out.

Although we're both a bit on the Disney-freak side, I actually had to talk DH out of going in both August and September/October. We've already got a 2-week trip booked for the second half of June with a 4-night cruise on the Wonder to follow July 1-5!

So, yes, this promo works. We love the value resorts--their economical price means we can take many more trips each year!

I pulled up a 9 night package at WL and a 9 night package at Pop so I can see how much we would save when they give me the package price for the special. If it works the way I think it should then it does seem like a good deal.

They used to do this at WDW resorts a few years ago. You would get a little envelope on your door a couple days prior to check it. It was an offer to book at a discount if you did it before you checked out. This isn't anything new. It was done for years and they are just dredging it up again.

Hmmmm Sounds as if Disney is trying to get the folks who are excited about being there to commit to a time that is generally slow with a decrease to the same rate as it would be with free dining. Then do you think they will come back in April and offer free dining to get another batch of bargain hunters to sign up then? If so would they let the first folks get free dining on top of the bargain they got in December?

Generally, you can only use one discount at a time. Free dining last yr was only avail if you paid rack rate for the room. I doubt Disney would allow piggybacking of the discounts.
