I just read on all ears site that starting today Disney is offering a "Future stay pilot program". From what I understand that between now and December 31st if you are staying at a WDW run resort (so Dolphin and Swan are not included) you will be able to book a future trip for a special packaged rate.

You must book before you check out of your resort. They will have reservation centers in the Yacht & beach club and Port Orleans Resort.
The package is supposed to be deeply discounted but includes a 5 night standard room, base MYW tickets and the dining plan.

Whaddya think Dissers? Good Idea,Bad idea

Genius idea for Disney :lmao: Get you to commit to another vacation at WDW while you are still getting the I love it here vibes :goodvibes but on the other hand if you know you will be coming back anyway, why not take advantage of it.

Wow...I agree with Lucky! Possibly a genius marketing idea...right now they've got ME to get you there, DDP to keep you there, and this new program to make you come back! As if Disney doesn't monopolize most of our vacations anyway, LOL... :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

I would absolutely do it if I could...my mom and I are going in April (for her very first trip!) so that would be great to book it and save $$$...not sure if I can as I will have an AP by then though, I am upgrading my 8 day PH to an AP. Mom will just have an 8 day PH which I was buying her separately, and trying for room discounts for the April trip with the AP, but maybe I will book a package instead. We'll see how deep the magic goes ;)

I would do it and we will be there during the test period but it says the return trip has to be between Aug and Sept and we won't travel in that heat. If I could book for Oct, Nov, or Dec I would do it in a second.

Brilliant idea - heck yeah I'd do it.

We already decided when we'd be returning like 4 days into our September trip...

Yes - good idea, and I hope it remains! :thumbsup2

But do you have to know what dates you'll be coming there? We never know a year or more in advance what dates we'll both be able to get away from our jobs!

They already do this on the Disney cruises. You get special pricing if you book and put your down payment down before you get off the ship! They know at that point you are riding high and don't want to even think about going home, so they have you coming back already!! BTW, it works!!!

Yup!! We will be there during the test period and had planned on going back next year that time anyway.

I am not staying at a test resort (We're at AKL) but will be over at the Beach Club one night so we will probably sign up if we can!!

I think this is a brilliant idea. Does everyone notice that this promo is being offered during the "free dining time"? Maybe this is disney's way of getting around the free dining promo- either way I will be booking my next september vacation while I am there in december. I already have my dates set all I have to do now is wait for december. I wonder what the total package price will be if you add on the park hopper option? Either way I will be saving around 700 dollars- woohoo!!!!!!

I thought it was only a savings of $194 per adult? :confused3 That discount doesn't sound all that spectacular. And since we have APs and DS is 10 but never eats anything I don't think it is a package for us.

I'm curious what the discounted rate is for kids. If we could get away with a 5 night stay with Dining for around $1500 for the 4 of us, that could be worth doing. I'm not crazy about going in the heat though.

I would...cruiselines have done this for a while, and I had often wished Disney would, too...curious to see how it plays out with other discounts, though.

Looking at the timing and the fact that the package includes the dining plan, it makes me suspect there will not be free dining this year.

well, let's see...
if dining is $39 per night per adult x 5 nights = $195...hmmmm.......,

would free dining by any other name still "taste" as sweet?

sounds just like DCL. book on the ship and get good discounts. upgrade too if needed. i like this idea.

I will be there during the test plan time - and had already decided to go back in September, hoping for free dining. I wonder if you get the dining plan and then Disney later does offer free dining then if you could change to free dining from the dining plan???

August/September? Value resorts? Nahhhh, I don't think so.

Hmmmm Sounds as if Disney is trying to get the folks who are excited about being there to commit to a time that is generally slow with a decrease to the same rate as it would be with free dining. Then do you think they will come back in April and offer free dining to get another batch of bargain hunters to sign up then? If so would they let the first folks get free dining on top of the bargain they got in December?
