Disney offering express bus service- For a charge

My goodness - well - let's see. To the best of my memory they walked us back and the bus was still there but then pulled away. We didn't actually get all the way up next to the bus before it left. Since you are escorted back to the bus it isn't like we could just run for it as you're sort of like duckings following the CM back there so we saw the last of the people (or perhaps last person) get on the bus and it leave as we were being escorted back. It seems like as we were going back (and could see the bus but were still some distance away) at some point before we were there the CM stopped and said we couldn't make it - then it pulled away. I'm not clear on why the CM took us back to try to catch it to begin with.

I can't be more specific than that - we'd need to pull the security camera footage. ;)

OK - I was just confused by the two statements you made, as they seemed to conflict. One made it sound like you were there waiting while people were getting on, in the other the bus was moving away. I thought it would be helpful to those using an ECV or wheelchair to know if they would be able to get on if they showed up while the bus was actually loading. Or do they need to show up before the bus is there so they can get on first?

These buses are on a strict schedule, so they are required to leave at their stated times (20s and 50s, etc.) and wouldn't be allowed to stop to load an ECV/wheelchair OR allow more guests to board a bus if they've been told to depart. We used the new transportation for seven days last week and absolutely loved it. Only once did we encounter the above situation, and that was when we arrived at "check-in" 2-3 minutes before scheduled departure. After that, we made sure to arrive at check-in 10 minutes or so before the scheduled departure.

I read here (in this thread?) that someone was loaded on after there were already people on the bus but that's never happened to me - in fact I didn't think the bus driver was allowed to do that but perhaps they are? At least that's never happened to me with the regular bus to and from the park - if I showed up after people were boarding I was directed to wait for the next bus. Sorry for the confusion.

Every other time that I can remember when we were taken back, we were either the first ones there (and only ones - and sometimes people were escorted back after we had boarded) or with a group that was already waiting. They escorted us back as a group (say 10 people) but they did board me first in the ECV. I think because we asked for the bus departure times to our next planned park, we didn't wait long as we showed up in time before any group was taken back - except that one time at DHS. I'd say ask the CM"s, if you know what park you plan to hop to next, what time the bus for that park leaves - and they'd say something like 20 mins and 50 mins past the hour...then you can be there 10 mins or so beforehand.
