Anyone here ever been to PENSACOLA BEACH and if so, what are your opinions? Thank you! Also if anyone has been to SIX FLAGS TEXAS or SIX FLAGS NEW ORLEANS, opinions on that as well. Thank you!

Being that I live here, I've been to Six Flags over Texas many times. When I was a kid, we had season's passes and went all summer long. I loved it. As an adult, I don't care for it.

Main reason, after going to Disney, it pales in comparison. I mean, do you want the steak and shrimp with a salad or would you like the leftover meatloaf?

It is a great place for thrill seekers. Lots of thrill rides. I like the more "passive" rides so that I can do them with my daughter.

I feel that Six Flags is over priced. Costs about the same as Disney, much larger crowds at times and not quite as much to do.

I do not feel that Six Flags is very child friendly. Well, at least not for my child. My baby is more the Dumbo, Peter Pan's Flight type. Our friends have a 7 year-old who loves anything with big hills and fast drops and he loves going to Six Flags. So again, it just depends on the child.

There are certain rides as Six Flags that are a must. The Mexican Hat, Conquistador, Log Ride, Mine Train, Mini-Mine Train and Judge Roy.

Have a great time, wherever your destination. :sunny:

I don't know if you or any of your family are into military/aircraft but pensacola has a naval aviation museum at the naval air station that is quite impressive and last time I was there (2001) it was free admission... very nice place and is home to the Blue Angels... just something for you to look into if interested

Growing up not far from Six Flags, we too had season passes.
The first thing is to not compare Six Flags in any way to WDW, other than they are both called Theme Parks. Six Flags has rides that are sure to amuse any family. Unlike WDW, most of the rides are outside. Lack of shade make the Texas summer heat almost unbearable. We use some of the same tricks for Six Flags that we use at Disney. The park is expensive, so carry packs with snacks and water bottles to stay hydrated. I find the food choices very limited, so unless you are into fast food, you are on your own. There is a picnic area right outside of the park. A few of the tables are actually in the shade. Go early, the park gets crowded later in the morning and early afternoon. Check out www.sixflags.com for specials they are running, park hours, ride descriptions, etc. Along with numerous roller coaster type rides, there is an area for young children with a changing and first aide station. We have had alot of fun there over the years, and will still occasionally enjoy going in the future.
