Disney Obsession Disclosure

How did you break it to your significant other that you love Disney World? I get a lot of funny looks when I tell someone new that it is my favorite place to go and I wish I could go every year. I think it's especially hard with my age group (late 20's) because everyone my age thinks Disney is lame and you should tour Europe or go to a tropical island.

So I'd like to hear some stories of how you told that special someone that you are a Disney addict (and got them to accept it)!

We're in the same age group - I definitely get those looks at work, "You're going there again?!" As for my now DH, I don't think I ever officially told him, but I'm sure he figured it out in little snippets along the way. Fortunately for me, he just happened to like Disney, once I showed him how awesome it was. He really likes Pixar movies and we started small with a day trip to DL when we were in Cali in 2003. He'd never been to DL or WDW. It took very little convincing to agree to get married in WDW. In 2005 and 2006 we went to WDW 3x each year. He really loves Food and Wine Festival. Now we have a little munchkin and he agreed it was a good idea to buy DVC. He's not a Disney addict, but he's definitely a fan.

You think you get odd looks at your age? I just turned 40 and have two teenage boys. When I told people that the boys were going to Canada with their grandparents for a trip while DH and I went to Disneyland for a week for our 20th anniversary, we got odd looks! They said, "Don't you have that backwards?" and also, "I don't know what I'd do at Disneyland without the kids." Well, you just can't explain it to those people.
