Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

Currently there has been no announced release date for Disney+. It is supposed to also be shown prior to Wish when that releases in theaters, so it may not be until after the theatrical run of Wish has finished.

I'm thinking it's going to drop on D+ on the evening of 10/15 or 10/16 after the ABC network premier

All that work to make it look exactly right - and they get Elsa's wig wrong. Elsa DOES NOT HAVE WHITE HAIR. She is a platinum blonde. I have no idea why they can never get this right. You would think Disney would know what color hair she has, she's only one of their most popular characters.
True. But then Disney always portrays Cinderella's ballgown as blue when it is actually white in the film.

Yeah that's really what I was coming from. Promoting it the way they are is just trying to make it a tourist attraction but one that doesn't do the information justice.

I don't live too too far from Marceline and we've been there (actually with our DISer group) but I wonder when you went? We went in spring of 2018 and by then they had added new videos and audios to the Hometown Museum which they didn't have before and that really added to the overall experience especially as people pass away you have these archival footage of people remembering interactions with Disney and his family. Hours and hours of time we spent there with a lot of relics to be seen. We also added our own signatures in the barn.

I could see how if you live in Chicago you wouldn't see the point in driving to rural MO but if you were actually interested in seeing rich history about Walt and seeing how he lived for most of his youth as well as artifacts of Disneyland it would be worth it. A separate trip to Marceline doesn't net someone much, but someone who is really interested in Walt it totally would be. TBH KC, MO doesn't have a huge amount of stuff to see for Walt Disney other than really the Laugh-O-Gram studio (in the process of being hopefully getting grant money to renovate it) but if you drove to Marceline you might as well drive the 2-ish hours to KC. But I wouldn't make a trip just to KC thinking you'll see what you would in Marceline.

It was certainly pre 2018. I don’t recall there being any movies or films and such. I think that I was the only one there visiting at the time.

Don’t take me wrong it certainly was interesting and I’m glad I stopped but you are correct in that it’s a matter of how far it is from my home base and that there isn’t much else around.

Some of us DISers in my area may try to go again but with a newer local DISer group we've been meeting with.

D23 just did an event there over the summer IIRC.

Well if you're ever up for a road trip you might try to go back. Maybe there's other Chicago DISers on the Boards who would go as well. But I get ya :)

I’ve heard dropping on D+ 10/16 no longer playing before wish…I’ve heard won’t be on D+ until Wish eventually gets to D+ as it’s still playing before it….who knows

My cable guide (direct tv Tampa market) doesn’t list is as a separate program tonight on abc and I really don’t want to sift through Encanto to find it…
Freeform, Disney Channel and the above mentioned Disney Jr do have the short listed in their line ups tomorrow so I’ve set a recording for them (unless youtube or disney+ drops it first)

A new limited-time Ursula mug to “octopi” your collection! 💜🐙 The mug will be available for fortunate souls at #TraderSams at @disneyland Resort this Wednesday, Oct. 18!

The mug will only be available via mobile order through the Disneyland app for a limited time on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with mobile orders starting as early as 6AM PT. Once ordered, pick up within your designated arrival window, between 7AM-3PM. Limit 2 per order

@Gusey said that only the UK version of Disney+ will get the short on October 16th.
