No more "chat" feature on the website? I've been trying to ask about my 6 pm ADR on a Christmas party date without a party ticket and kept going in to see if "chat" was available...it was always gray and said "we're busy helping others"...now the chat icon on the help page is completely gone...I did send an email on Monday asking my question...no response there either.

Splashdown Photos Partially Closed at Magic Kingdom​

A wall of scrim now blocks part of Splashdown Photos from guest access. The shop is next to Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom and is expected to get an update to coincide with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. The brown scrim blocks a section of the shop behind ear headbands and light-up wand displays. It’s not clear if this scrim indicates the beginning of the Splash Mountain retheme or just a refurbishment.

Ryan Reynolds, ‘Strange World’ Writer-Director Qui Nguyen Tackling Movie Based on Disney Theme Park Attraction ‘Society of Explorers and Adventurers’

Ryan Reynolds is teaming up with Qui Nguyen, the writer and co-director of Disney’s upcoming animated feature, Strange World, to adapt the company’s Society of Explorers and Adventurers theme park attraction as a film.

Nguyen will write what is intended to be a live-action feature take with Reynolds producing with his executives at his banner, Maximum Effort.

This new feature project is different than the upcoming Disney+ series from exec producer and writer Ron Moore (For All Mankind) that is also based on the SEA idea. Moore’s series is set in the Magic Kingdom Universe, where the themed lands and characters of Disney’s parks and classic films exist in another reality.

It may be my imagination, but it seemed like last week I saw fewer people than usual wearing ears, Disney shirts, etc. For my own part, I was there six nights and seven days, and bought zero merch. After shelling out for Genie+, ILLs, and food, I just didn’t feel like it. Would not be surprised if many people feel the same.

The Disney outlet by us which gets all the phased out park merchandise was really struggling to have stock and they weren’t really discounting anything too much, maybe 25% off for the last year. I just went a couple of weeks ago and they had a ton of stock including all the new STICH merch line at 50-70%. Definitely a huge difference and some of the design are just awful for the clothes, bizarre color combinations and designs.

New Passholder Entrance Signs Unveiled at Magic Kingdom​

Earlier this week, we reported seeing mysterious signs appearing at the entrances of the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The signs, which were at eye level, featured iconography from the Walt Disney World Railroad Station and the EPCOT logo. Today, we saw the mystery sign at the Magic Kingdom was a placeholder for the new Passholder Entrance sign.

Love this perk for Passholders! And a popcorn bucket! That's worth the 8 million dollars I've spent -- Thanks Disney!

It’s very interesting about the lines for pass holders only. I was just there but didn’t notice them. I’ll have to pay closer attention.

far as I know the passholder lines have been there for every trip we've made the past few years, but they were ID'd with a simple A-frame placard on the ground. I always try to push my father over to it even if there are regular touch points with no line because he likes it. we never rope drop so I've no idea if it's really a time saver first thing in the morning.

Disney files permit to begin Splash Mountain's retheme to Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World​

Disney has filed a permit with Orange County to begin work on the redevelopment of Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

The permit is for "Project CY1899" with an expiration date of June 30 2024, and is assigned to long-time Disney partner Belfour Beatty Construction. (Thanks to danlb_20000 on the WDWMAGIC Forums for spotting the permit.)

Belfour Beatty Construction has previously worked on Pandora - The World of AVATAR at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in late 2024, but Disney has not yet announced a closure date for Splash Mountain. Current estimates suggest a January 2023 closure for Splash Mountain.

I really don’t like the new cartoons .. I love the current/past Mickey Mouse face…

I loathe them, the first one I saw was Donald refusing to fly south for the winter to experience Christmas. It reminded me of Ren and Stimpy which is just cringy, so I've refused to watch any of the new ones since.

I don't really buy a lot of merch either mainly due to the insane prices and how low quality + uncreative a lot of it has become. The t shirts don't last after a few washes and sizing is so inconsistent. Every store has the same 20 or so items. I miss when each store had unique items. I'll maybe buy a mug and that's about it. Nowadays I import merch from the non US Disney parks or use Etsy for ears.

Etsy has some fantastic ears, and a lot of them light up. Hot Topic actually has a huge trove of Disney shirts and merch that if you buy with a coupon code or during a sale aren't to bad price wise.
