Disney "must dos" in December

Hi all!
This will be my first time to Disney in december too. I am doing the MVMCP and was planning on staying at MGM untill dark to see the Osbourne lights, but do I need a seperate ticket for this event as well? I thought the lights were just put on when the sun went down. Am I wrong? If so I will be really bummed out:sad1:

No, it is not an extra ticket event. They have a set time they light them every night, and they come on to the music, and I've heard it is beautiful. We saw them after they were on, but they twinkle to the music all the time, and it snows. It's is really a nice show. We got us some egg nogs and sat and enjoyed them. Have fun.

Princess-RN, I just noticed our tickers show the exact same time! What day are you doing LTT & MVMCP? Ours is on Dec.2. Maybye We'll see you there

Piglets Mommy,

I'm not Princess-RN, but wanted to tell you we'll be at the MVMCP on the 2nd! We're eating at Chef Mickey's before hand, though. Maybe we'll see you there!!!

Edited to add: I just realized this was my 1,000th post!! How cool!!

:tink: My family is going to DisneyWorld the week after Thanksgiving. Has anyone ever been then? What are the crowds like?? Are all the Christmas decorations up? I have never been during the holidays! I AM SO EXCITED!!:wizard: :smickey:

We always visit the week after Thanksgiving and this year is no exception. The crowds are usually minimal, the weather changes from cool to warm on a daily basis (so bring layers), and all of the holiday decorations are up.
If you get the chance, please visit the different resorts. The decorations are worth taking a portion of the day to see. We also highly recommend the Candlelight Processional. It's one of the most wonderful Christmas shows you'll ever see. Have a great trip and enjoy!

What exactly is the "Twas the Night Before Christmas Show"? Where in the Magic Kingdom is this show?

Thanks

. - do I hear your christmas card calling??

Last year there was a lady with two sleeping brothers in a disney stroller. She took a picture of them (it was soooo cute) On her christmas cards she put "Silent Night" with this picture. I bet it turned out really good.

Great thread! This is my first trip at Christmastime and I'm so excited! DH doesn't want to do MVMCP, so we're not going to catch it this year. What are the dates for the Candlelight Processional? Do we have to have a package to be able to see it?

I'm so excited to see the Osbourne Family Lights as well!!! I love Christmas, it's my favorite time of year - it's also my birthday :goodvibes:

CP is every night. You don't have to have a dinner package, but many have said it helps with having a reserved seat and cuts down on waiting in line. If you can't do the package I would try going during the week and not on the weekend.

I can't wait for the MVMCP! The parade, the toy soldiers.... Are you sure you don't wanna go alone? Can you guilt DH into going? Tell him there's short lines for the rides!

OH, and :bday:

We have been to Disney before but never around Xmas time. Thanks for these tips.

I am thinking of a family Christmas card and if any of you have some pictures you can share here, it would be much appreciated, trying to get a general idea on what they look like.

I'm going to try and guilt him into going, LOL. I really want to go...I'll have to check our ADR's and see when we could fit it in. I want to do it all!

And thanks on the birthday wishes! :goodvibes

:santa: Also going for the Holiday's season! This will be the 3rd year in a row going the week after Thanksgiving...little itty bitty crowds! Love it!! :cool1: All the Christmas stuff is awesome, and they let me celebrate my Bday (12/23), I never get to celebrate around the real date because I'm working, DH is working, or just everyone's too busy :confused3

Here's a link to a video I took last year of Osborne Lights

This is our first year splurging on DDP, so we still haven't done MVMCP...maybe next year! :wizard:
