OK:

I am running into a dilemma. I love purchasing movies in HD through iTunes and run it through my appleTV. I love not having the discs flying around the house, etc. I don't have any storage issues when I do it this way. But, Disney has not released everything digitally as of yet. Many, many movies are available in blu-ray though. So, before I go into this purchase with Beauty and the Beast this weekend, I'm not sure which version to buy. I really think it'll drive me nuts if I have disney movies in two different versions. Example: If I want to watch G-Force, I don't want to have to think, hmmmmm now is that in digital format, or blu-ray format.

What is it ya'll do?

The Disney Classics, to me, are a no-brainer on BluRay. First off, the Bluray quality is much higher than iTunes HD quality. Both audio and video are better on a BluRay. The bonus features are AMAZING... and this may likely be the last chance you will get to physically OWN a copy of the movie you can watch whenever you want. BluRay is amazing quality and a durable format that will probably last for a looooooong time and still look really good. That and coupled with the $10 coupon, this movie can be had for around $15 easily anywhere. It's an incredible value, IMO... and it blows renting away.

I find no serious logic for going with blue ray format for such movies. Digital ones will do the job.

+1 for Blu-Ray (+1 for the combo pack that has an extra DVD for the vehicle as well).

Something about having the tangible product in my hand. It is mine. Can't be taken away, deleted, and can be used whereever I choose. (Yes, I understand it can be stolen, lost, scratched, etc.) I just don't trust the digital 'product'. Old-Fashioned...but demanding.

Definitely Blu-ray!

With Blu-ray, you get the movie in full 1080p, which is the best possible picture -- anything else might get you 720p, at the most, on an HDTV.

While not having discs, etc. sounds nice, you would still have to purchase quite a few storage devices (external flash/hard drives) to keep them handy (as if you put them on your PC's hard drive, it would affect your computer's performance).

Also, I don't know if folks around here realize it, but Blu-ray discs are less prone to damage/scratches than regular DVDs.
