I'm planning on going to WDW in early Dec 2008 and have been hoping to receive a PIN code.

I've double checked my info on the web site, ordered the planning DVD, and have created a couple of itineraries for the Beach Club and AKL.

Lo and behold, today I get an email from Disney Destinations. I got excited thinking that I had received a PIN code.

But instead, it's an email thanking me for "expressing interest in staying at a WDW resort". It also listed the information "that I provided" and links to "help me book my vacation".

To add insult to injury, the "information" had the wrong dates, wrong number of adults, and wrong resort. :sad2:

I got the same thing the other day. I had been checking some rates online and ordered the dvd and stuff hoping to trigger a code. Then a couple days later I got that email. I was so excited when I first saw it and then I openend it. What a let down.

Did you call to see if you have a code attached to your name? I never received a post card or email but got the code yesterday when I called! I also called a week ago & was told I didn't have any codes assigned to me. When I called yesterday, I did have the code! It pays to keep trying!

I got one from DVC today soliciting us to buy DVC again. But in my mail preview I could only see it was an email from Disney with a title starting with "Unpack..." I almost had a heart attack!!

Call call call, I think the thing that triggers the "code" is if its been a few years since your last visit.. sooo maybe letting it slip your mind you haven't been there since about 2000 would be a wise thing

I call them more than I call my own family lol:rotfl:

I know what you mean. I was thumbing through the mail today only to come across a Disney Destinations folder. I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself. Upon ripping it open, it states: "Welcome "insert name here" party, we're so happy you're coming back in May! Here's something special for your trip." Here I am anxiously reading the mailer looking for a number, code, anything, but alas, just tips on how to make the most out of the month of May. :headache:

Oh well, I guess there's always hoping a general public code will come out soon. ;)

They strike again!! This time it was a DVC postacrd in the mail about "Warm Weather in February..." :faint: They are killing me!!

Oh yeah? I got so fired up reading about codes last week that I got the mail and my heart stopped for ... Disney on Ice!

I call them more than I call my own family lol:rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And you'd think they'd want us to stop! Just send me the darn code!

I went so far as to cancel a May reservation yesterday to see if that would do the trick. CM canceling my ressie didn't even seem fazed by it! (We're going to stay at the Swan instead.)

Plus, they keep getting my e-mail address wrong (my work e-mail, which I have NEVER given them has somehow been associated w/ my account). I think I'm on call #7 to get it rectified, and it obviously doesn't get kept in their system as each time I call they quote me the wrong e-mail address again. I actually got a WDW survey in that mailbox this morning.

For such a huge company where you would think data collection would be so important, it really seems like they have a terrible computer system.

They mock me, too. I got an e-mail in my bulk folder from Disney yesterday. I got ALLLL excited. I opened it and it is from the IPO, asking me what I want to do in August. For rack rate maybe I will just stay in the room the whole time!:headache: :sad2:

You made me snort! :lmao:

I got both emails, the DVC & the intinerary one. Almost pee'd my pants both times thinking I finally got a code.

Aaah, thought I would bring this thread up to share my experience with CRO this afternoon. I have visited WDW on average twice a year for the past 6 years. Now that DS is in school full-time, we will make fewer trips to the World and more than likely we'll stop going altogether if we don't get a decent discount.

We have NEVER had a code attached to our name or received a postcard with a code. However, we have taken advantage of public codes, which is how we could afford to visit so often. I recently updated EVERYTHING on the Disney site, sent for TWO dvds and added 3 new e-mails.

I called CRO this morning (3rd time in less than 2 weeks) to see if there was a code attached to my name or anyone else's in my family. "YES, the lovely CM says, you have a special offer attached to your name and you should be receiving something about that in the mail within 2 weeks or maybe by e-mail."

"Uh, great...can you tell me what that offer is?" "YES, it's 40% off a resort stay!" "OH MY...this is the best news I've had in a long time," I say. I then asked if I could book my vacation NOW since I know what dates I'm looking at (and know from the DIS the applicable dates for the code). The lovely CM looks up my dates and then says, "OH...actually...this ISN'T the 40% off code, but for an upgrade including free water parks, for travel from now until March." "OH, wow," I say, those dates don't work for me at all."

TALK ABOUT A TEASE!!!!!! Talk about being MOCKED!!!!
She giveth, and then she taketh away, LOL!!!!!

The lovely CM then told me "to keep a look out for some mail" because her system did say that "something was on its way to me." She said "maybe I would get an e-mail in a day or two." I wonder what that means ;)

I'm hoping for some pixie dust.....pixiedust:

I had the same thing a couple of days ago. I called and she hunted around forever and finally said I had a code! I knew the dates covered from reading here so I already knew I wanted Dec 7-13. She said that would work and went to put it in. It wouldn't take. Origonally she said the code was under my name but attached to the address I grew up at but haven't lived there in almost ten years. So she put me on hold and called guest services. When she came back she said the code was only good for travel through March and was for ticket upgrades, and it was also under my DH name attached to the address of our first home, that we haven't lived at in over 7 years.

I thanked her and said that wouldn't work for us. She did spend another ten minutes updating all our info and she said putting it all together so everything is under the correct name/address/phone number. I hoped that woudl help me get a code, but no luck yet. I will try to call tomorrow and see.

I got one for my mother on my home email (why I don't know although they always go to Disney with us) but it was for Adventures By Disney. I have a fear of flying, drive to WDW and wouldn't it figure we get something about flying over seas? Just my luck. Oh well, at least I know they still have my email address.

We got an e-mail with something about a great rate in the title! I was so excited!!!! Opened it up and it was for $82 for a value, in December. Going online I saw that is the rack rate! Some great rate

that bums me out b/c we go at least two times a year and never have I received a code...ugh. I always wait for an AP or FL resident rate. Now I am playing the waiting game for April....
