Just got back from a day at the parks. We went to MK first for DD's first haircut (what a blast!). Then we went to MGM.

While at the MGM Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, we saw one of the stuntmen fall 2 1/2 stories down to the concrete below. The crew/cast quickly ran over to attend to the stuntman. They announced that the show had to be ended immediately and they moved props around the stunt man so we could not see anything.

As we left the park, we saw a medevac helicopter land in an empty section of parking; and as we passed by, they were strolling the stuntman on a stretcher over to the helicopter.

Does anyone know if the poor fellow is OK? There was no painful screaming, and it was a high fall onto concrete (looked like upper body first), so we figured he might have been unconscious - or in deep shock. We hope he is OK.... :(

I checked last night and today at www.OrlandoSentinal.com, but nothing comes up. Maybe they did not get the story or maybe they have a deal with Disney not to print things like injuries and accidents in the park... who knows.

Oh know, how terrible! Hope he is ok?

Falling 2 1/2 stories and landing on concrete is not good. I hope that guy is okay, but if he was flown out, chances are he had severe trauma. :(

:( How scary! Hope it all turns out okay.

Found out through one of my wife's friends that the guy landed on his face - but that may have been a good thing. They say that there doesn't appear to be any spinal damage. Last she heard, the guy was upgraded to serious condition a few days ago.

I also hope this guy gets completely better. Believe it or not, I had a similar fall from off a 10 meter board when I was 12 and landed on the concrete. I ended up with a concussion and a few bruises but NO OTHER INJURIES. Luckily I passed out on the way down so I was completely limp when I landed. According to the Drs. this made a big difference in the outcome. They were more than a little shocked at my lack of injuries.

By the way, The part of the fall where I was conscious was not scary at all. It was amazingly peaceful. I only write this to offer some comfort to those people who witnessed this incident. I hope it helps.

I had heard from a Florida resident that WDW is VERY closed mouth about any kind of accident at their theme parks and is only required to report such events on a voluntary basis to the state of FL. So, I doubt any such incidents would get publicity.
