OK Ladies...

Am I totally out of the loop, or did I just discover an interesting website?

I googled Disney Merchandise, trying to find "cheap" stuff to put in my welcome basket, which that concept has been my thought obsession the past few days, trying to think of creative personal stuff to put in it for each of my guests.

Anyways, This website http://www.laughingplacestore.com came up and I went to it. It has TONS of Disney stuff that it says is discounted. Some of it looked like a good deal, some of it I wasn't sure.

Let me know your opinion, or if you have personally used this site.

I think I would definately do research before buying from there. Just browsing quickly - Kids MM Ears $23.95 with their discount $16.28. Grumpy baseball hat - $39.75 with their discount $27.83. Discounted T-shirts for $34? Is it just me or do they sound totally high?? I know Disney is expensive, but not that expensive. Maybe some of the things are good deals, but I would definately research before buying.

That site is a group that will go to Disney and buy things in the parks and ship them to you. For Christmas, my DF bought me the Mickey and Minnie wedding pen. WHen it came he saw that he paid more than double the price on the sticker, plus shipping. It's a good way to get stuff you can't get to WDW to get yourself, but not a good deal if you're looking for good prices. For lots of little things, I think the best thing to do is go to world of disney with your annual pass or disney visa and get the 10% discount. If you were buying things for welcome gifts, head to DTD as soon as you arrive and grab what you need.

i havent personally bought from them, but I have heard good things about them.

As for the prices....welcome to the world of bargain shopping....some of their prices are good, some arent, but thats with any plcae you go,,,,,ive even seen things at the dollar store for $1, but then went to walmart or the grocery store & found it for .89?!?!
Just be a consious shopper & do your homework

I was going to buy the monorail train set and at World of Disney in Downton Disney it was 23 dollars cheaper than their price. Call Disney themselves and see if you can get whatever the item you want and have them ship it to you, or pick it up when you get there. I would hate to see you waste more money on that website. They have incorrect "was" prices.

i have bought from them. it depends on what i need and when i need it. If its an item you must have before a trip to disney they are great to get from. Reliable and speedy service. but as others have said they are more expensive. however here's a tip - if you subscribe to their email mailings you get a 15% discount on everything. it might be 20% i need to check. So some things are the smae cost.

It's 20% off, I am just waiting on an order coming through for them. Fingers and toes crossed that everything comes through okay as this is my first time buying with them.

I'm glad that you guys say it's more expensive I've been on the site before, just to see what kind of merchandise I can buy while at WDW and found them to be quite expensive - so I'm glad that I'll be able to buy them cheaper at WDW!

I have ordered from them before and they were wonderful. That being said the prices are much higher on some items and you can get them by calling Disney merchandising for no upcharge... except many people don't know that.
