Disney meal plan and resorts

1st visit!! We are staying at the Art Of Animation for 3 days/4 nights with a meal plan. We purchased Park Hopper tickets for 2 days. I am looking at making reservations and want to know how I know if a restaurant requires park admission. How do you tell what you need a park ticket for??
We have 3 sit down meals that I want to reserve, but don't want to reserve at a restaurant on a day that we do not have a park pass for .... any help or explanation would be great!

Look at the location of the restaurant. If it is located in a park, you need to have a park ticket to eat at that restaurant. If it is located in a resort or at Downtown Disney, you do not need a park ticket to eat there. What restaurants are you interested in eating at?

The short answer is any restaurant that is inside a theme park requires park admission except Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. Every resort restaurant does not require park admission. At DTD all restaurants are accessible without park tickets except FoodQuest (inside Disney Quest so it requires DQ admission) and I think Fork & Screen at the AMC theaters. All restaurants at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon require water park admission.

If you are making your table service restaurant reservations online there is a page for each TS restaurant. In the upper right corner it will indicate if it is in a park and that theme park admission is required or it will tell you if it is at a resort or DTD:
