What are the perks and advantages?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My favorite reasons to travel in May are:
  • Low crowds (assuming you don't travel over Memorial Day Weekend)
  • Very nice weather
  • Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot

I love WDW in May!

I agree with Debi. We have been in May twice and it is my favorite time to go. We just went at Christmas, as due to work we can not go this May. You will LOVE.......... IT!!!!!

Disney in May is great. The Flower and Garden Festival is going on and the weather is great. My wife and I have been several times in May. The temperature has gotten in the mid 90's, which it not the norm for may, but the usual is upper 80's to low 90's.

You will love it in May. We will be there in March this year and I am ready to go.

We go in May Because
1. Low crowds, very low wait time for major attractions
2. Great weather
3. Flower and garden show

went in late june early july once never again!!!

April 30 to May 11 2008

I usually go to WDW three times a year: Sept, Dec, and May.

late Sept has the lowest crowds, free food (last three years), MNSSHP, Food & Wine /Festival, and 'Eat to the Beat' concerts

Dec has cooler temps and the Christmas decorations and MVMCP

May is still my favorite time to go though. Crowds are not as low as they are in Sept or early Dec, but they are not bad, weather is beautiful, Flower Festival at Epcot is beautiful, and 'Flower Power' concerts are great. I'll be there May 3rd-11th and can't wait!

im curious as well about May.

im going May 27-31, the week after Memorial Day Weekend. I live in Miami, so hot weather doesnt much concern me. Does anyone know how the crowds are that time of year?

i was down there last memorial day weekend and the crowds didn't seem that bad, i'm going back down again this memorial day weekend May 24-29

:thumbsup2 great weather for parks and pools
:thumbsup2 low crowds
:thumbsup2 Flower & Garden Festival
:thumbsup2 easier to get great prices on our flights
:thumbsup2 hopefully Pirate & Princess Party too (holding out for the release of extra dates)

:cheer2:

We were there during Memorial Day week last year and plan to do that week again. Will probably arrive the day after Memorial day this year however. (Very likely going to be a Disneymoon this trip... shhhhhhh :cool1: ) It was busy on the popular rides, but I didn't see where it was unbearable. I live in deep south Mississipp so heat wasn't that big of a deal for me.

We will be there april 25 through may 4th. We will be at Epcot on May 1st, for May Day! I'm excited... hope to see some fellow DISers there.

Yes indeed! We have gone the last week of May first week of June for the past two years and loved it. Crowds are moderate even over the holiday weekend, the weather is great and Floridas June rainy season hasn't started yet. I think a big contributor to the crowd levels in May is that a lot of public school systems aren't out until early June so that helps.

We were there last year the Wednesday before Memorial Day and flew home on Memorial Day. The crowds were not bad at all and the weather was beautiful. My granddaughter did alot of swimming and playing in the fountains. We are going the exact same time this year, because we loved the weather. The flower show at Epcot is just beautiful.

We are going May 1-May 10!!!!!!! We go every year in May. We have done last week in July before YUCK!!!!! May is the best: 1. Low crowds 2. Epcot flower show 3. PERFECT weather, rains if at all in am and is great in the eveniing.

I am so happy to read the wonderful comments on this thread. We will be there May 11-17. We pulled the kids from school for a couple of weeks so we could go at a good time. Done WDW in August twice and July once and that is kinda miserable. Our favorites are the water parks and we want to enjoy them without being cold or having to stand in horrendous lines.

We are going May 26-June 6 - trying to get last use out of AP's before they expire & hubby had to take last week of vacation before end of May - went last year at end of July & it was very hot and busy (not that I care as long as I'm at Disney!) Looking forward to F&G Festival - went for Mother's Day week in '06 and loved it! :lovestruc

Which would you pick?

My children are in a year round school, and they will be out May 12- June 5. We are free to go anytime within those dates. I would go before Memorial Day, but DS10's b-day is May 30th. So, what would you do? Risk the chance of higher crowds to be in WDW for your child's b-day, or go the week or two before Memorial Day? OHHHHH and our 14th anniversary is June 4th. Hmmmm, maybe we should go 5/27-6/4? But we would have to travel home on 6/4. Oh decisions, decisions. Fellow DISers, please help me!!!!
