Hey all-

My wife and I will be runing our first marathon at Disney in January 2004. I have booked us for the All Star Movie at $77 per night. I wanted to see where others have booked for and what rates you were able to secure. I would like to switch to something closer to Epcot if better rates are available.

Happy training to all,

Hi, I am running the 1/2 and busy looking into resorts. I may stay at the POR. It sounds like it might be busy at the Value resorts and I am looking to have a little relaxation. I have heard that there aren't any real discounts for the runners. Just the normal packages. Let me know if you hear of any and have fun at the race. I will be running the Marine Corps marathon in Oct.
Run on!!!

You are correct about them not offering any discounts for the runners. I originally booked at the all star movies for $99 a night but then they sent me a letter saying their 2004 rates had come in and they lowered the rate to $77. I'm planning on calling back soon to see what kind of AAA rates are available. I am hoping to move over to POR or one of the others in that area if I can get in at around $100 a night.

Good luck in October. That should be a great run. My mother-in-law has signed up for the Disney 1/2 marathon but she may just keep going and do the full if she feels okay.

We'll be there the 10-18th, not for the marathon per se, but may check it out. We are currently booked at the dolphin at the 129 gov't rate, but are going to recheck the AAA rates as things get closer and see if any other codes come out.

Hi U2Gator,

I am running the half-marathon in January. I called to get prices on the moderate resorts (Carribean Beach, Coronado Springs, etc) and the price as with tax per night 159.00. It seemed a little high to me but I figure I'll book it and hope for a discount to come out later before we go.

I'll be there from the 7th to 18th, running in my very first 1/2 marathon-we're staying at CSR with no discount yet. Will wait to see if any AP rates come out and we'll switch resorts if we have to. We'll be at AKL concierge for the last 2 nights so we can do the sunrise safari-yeah!

Hi everybody! My dh and I are also running the full marathon and we're planning on staying at the BC. We'll be at WDW from the 9th - 14th but are only staying onsite for the night before the marathon. Dd, ds, dm and df will all be there so staying offsite was more affordable for the 6 of us. At the BC, we were quoted $377 with taxes. (We're really hoping for a discount code ;) ) We've never stayed at the BC and would love to stay at a deluxe since it's only one night but I can't justify the $377, especially since we're leaving at 3am. We're both very excited about the race, I've heard it's a lot of fun.

Can't wait to see everyone there!!

My mom, husband and I will be walking (quickly) the half marathon. I really need to get my rear in gear and start walking long distances. We did a 10k this summer but have not done anything further than that yet. We haven't looked into room ressies yet. However, we have gone during this time of the year for the past 2 years and have stayed in moderates for $89 plus tax. We will be there Jan 3-13. Looking forward to it. Dawn

Husband is running the 1/2 marathon . Son and I are doing the 5K. We're staying at VWL.

I'm running the half mararthon. I booked us a room at the All Stars. I got a AAA rate of $69 a night including taxes. I am really waiting to see if discounts come out for the deluxes or moderates though and will probably change ressies if they do. But I wanted to make sure we had a cheap room in case they didn't offer any discounts. Since we aren't taking the kids for this trip, we won't be spending much time in the room anyway, and we don't need alot of space for just the 2 of us!

Count me in!

Very first marathon ever. Staying at the Dolphin the 9th-17th. Excited already- yes. Nervous already- yes.

(I think I can, I think I can, I think I can)

My DH is running his first DISNEY marathon in January. We're staying at the WL. Currently we have a AAA rate of $169 a night. We're hoping for some codes - since last August, I paid $129 a night for WL!

Good luck with the run.
