Very surprised :confused3 there hasn't been a meet thread for this one yet since it is President's week . I assume everyone (like me) has been waiting for someone else to start it. I've finally decided to bite the bullet and do it.

Anyway, this will be Disney cruise #4 for DW and I (completing the DCL "Grand Slam"! :cool1:), and #3 for the kids (DS, 13, at time of sailing & DD, 10, at time of sailing).

Looking forward to see who else is sailing. :boat:

This is our first cruise with Disney for the whole family. I was reading about the FE. Hoping to signup for one.

Hi! I tried to start a thread a couple of days ago..but I think it got buried. I was surprised too since its school vacation week for many.

This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. First time on the Magic though. Looking forward to the smaller ship.

DDs will be 8 and 12 at time of sailing.

Finally! I've been checking for months for a thread.....(too lazy to start one I guess, lol).

This will be our 2nd DCL. First one was on the Dream and I am super excited to try the Magic! We all love, love, loved the first cruise. We just came back from WDW and both kids said instead of going to WDW next time, can we go on a cruise instead?

Kids will be....8 & 12 at the time (had to think about it).
Oh yeah, the kids and DH don't know about any of this. Not sure when I will tell them. :hourglass Maybe Christmas.

Welcome! I guess that's a really good sign, we are all so laid back we can't be bothered to start a thread :lmao:Sounds like a nice relaxed bunch ...:goodvibes

I wanted to try to see if there are kids my dd's age so they could make some friends on board. They really didn't care for the kids clubs on our first cruise but I think we were sailing with a lot younger crowd, glad to see we are more in their age group so far!

Anyone have any experience with the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter at Nassau? We've been to Atlantis when it first opened so we are looking to see other options for excursions. (Atlantis was great, just liked to try something new).

I think we are in port with the Dream on the same day so worried about it filling up quickly.

We did the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon a few years ago when on the Disney Dream. We thought it was very good, well run. And normally, you can hang out and enjoy the beach after your dolphin encounter, however, a storm had come through the day before we did the dolphin encounter and the rest of the beach was closed. We actually went back to Blue Lagoon the next year when on Oasis of the Seas just for the "beach break" day. It's a nice calm lagoon with shallow water. Great if you have real young ones, or are looked for a laid back, relaxed day.

My DD loved the kids club last time, she was 5 at the time. She will love it again this time, she's very sociable and loves that kind of stuff. I'm more concerned about ODS, he will be 12.5. He's very quiet and I think this time he will have to go to the next club up - the one for tweens. He won't like that at all.

So...is everyone going to be looking to escpae the cold? We are from NYC, so that's definitely the case for us.

Has anyone here cruised in Feb. before? I'm concerned about it being cold.

Never cruised in Feb before. However, this past President's Day it was below zero here in the northeast. So even if it's only 60 degrees...I'll appreciate it. That said, I think it's safe to assume temps in at least the 70s. Average high temp for Nassau during mid-February is 77 degrees (info for Castaway is harder to find but obviously should be similar). Cape Canaveral has an avg high of 74 degrees. Will probably be very cool to chilly at nighttime though .

Sure is quiet here...maybe the ship will be empty!!!

:dogdance:

Southwest releases its Feb. flights on 6/30 so I'm anxiously awaiting that. so far flights have been like $700-$800/per person RT. I'll be cancelling our cruise before I pay those prices.

We'll be online early on the morning of the 30th to get flights on SW. I was hoping JetBlue would open up that week's flight before SW, but I'm hearing that won't be until July 8th.

:welcome:

We're unfortunately not doing a B2B.

Just booked to celebrate DH's big 5-0. Should be fun. Traveling with DD (12) and DS (10)

not impressed with any of the airfare that has been released. I hope they go down at some point, b/c I'm not paying $400/pp. to fly to FL for a 4 night cruise!! :(((
