There's apparently an issue with the Kingdom Pass...it's unavailable for purchase. GL knows and is working on a fix.

I'm sure that they have the GameLoft folks in Toronto working hard to fix the bug... oh, wait a minute...
 
Interesting, around 11:30am ET, I was able to purchase the Kingdom Pass. Did some things and started the Tower Challenge. Haven't looked at the game in almost an hour.
 
As an update. I brought up the game and there is no longer the Daily / Weekly task icon. So it does appear that they removed the Kingdom Pass even though I was able to successfully purchase it.

I was on about 830 PT and was going to wait to buy it. Didn’t see a price anywhere, just 20%off. Is it the normal $19.99 or has that changed. I was able to start characters on tasks, but I’m afraid to finish them if they aren’t going to count.

And a small side note…..still don’t have the 1 ear to upgrade hopper to level 2 and I have been sending the lowly task members out constantly, except when I sleep at night, which is more important to me.
 

When I purchased it, it listed two prices. Both of them were $19.99 (US). When I looked at it more closely, one was a discounted rate. It was too tiny to see what the original price was. When you do purchase the Kingdom Pass, you will get the Wardrobe from Beauty and the Beast. While the Tower Event doesn't recognize (any longer) that I purchased the Kingdom Pass, I still have the Wardrobe character and able to collect tokens for her and upgrade her.

Plus, I can't imagine that the coding for this pass is any much different than previous releases. 🤷‍♂️

According to dis.cord, Gameloft is actively working on the issue. But the fact that this happened with the very first season drop after they laid off the entire Toronto office isn't a good look (and doesn't make me optimistic for the long-term health of this game).
Sounds like the last great act of a soon-to-be former staff member by sabotaging the game on his way out.
 
I had that same thought about sabotage. Also, I've wondered how much testing can get needed, given that they are just doing the same thing, with different people? (I mean, I could be very wrong on that, but just wondered).

I also noted that I didn't get 250 EC for clearing one of the ghost things. That is not good - they have been very helpful to me in the TC.

This cannot be anything other than sabotage. There wasn't an issue with characters or tokens (well, outside of the ridiculous token requirement and extremely limited collection for the new character, which I trust Gameloft will wisely adjust for players). This issue hit them right where it hurts most... in their pocketbook, right on day-one of the new season. There is no way this was an accident, not even for hapless interns. This was clearly inattentional, but it serves Gameloft right. Anyone who has ever had any connection to HR-related functions know that you do not cut staff, particularly IT, before the installation, test, and launch of new software versions. They were a full month premature on the staffing cuts, and now those idiots are paying for it. Bravo, Gameloft. I hope you have all learned a valuable lesson in business operations. Cannot wait to see the press release on how they attempt to spin this other than, "Yeah, we really screwed up here." Don't be surprised if they choose to reset the season and possibly the tower challenge and have folks start all over again.

Another snafu…anyone else have their Everest cursed? And there ain’t a dang thing you can do about it? Tapping it just shows the zone stats. Think it will be glowing purple for a very long time. What a hot mess

Feeling like you are in the most unfortunate boat here. I’m really not losing much on an event I hadn’t even paid for yet. Just more annoying than anything…albeit mildly entertaining. Hoping this gets sorted out so that you don’t just flat out lose the $$$

Very strange, mine is fine. Although being that I didn't notice either way and had to go back in to check, I guess having it back to cursed really won't impact your game play one way or the other. You'll be fine!

What I have noticed is that the extra "slots" for the aspects of the Tower Event are not available since the Kingdom Pass is not active. So in that sense, I am going through the event like people that were unable to or chose not to purchase the Kingdom Pass. Outside of the daily/weekly/event tasks, that is the only thing missing. Once this all gets resolved, one way or another, I would imagine that Gameloft will either refund the purchase or the Kingdom Pass will be restored. I saw that they did post to Instagram yesterday. But no new update as to ETA when this issue will be resolved. Until they resolve things, I will just continue to plug along on the Tower event.

On a different note, BURN-E is going to be a SLOG. It is going to take freaking forever to get the tokens to even welcome the character.
 
okay, daily and weekly are back, restarted. With some happiness and gifts.

BUT - no event tasks. And in the explorations, they took away the bonus refreshers for completing a row/column (yes, they gave some as gifts, but i don't think that will make up for what they took away).

Without event tasks - there is no way for people to get to Becky without buying the kingdom pass. I've done the math.
 
OKay - now my event tasks are back too.

(Let's hope the rest of the season goes more smoothly!)
 
One thing that is interesting for me is that they did not take away the Wardrobe. So I wonder what will happen when I get to that level. My guess nothing. I also noticed that my weekly tasks did change from what I had initially noted yesterday. If anything, my weekly tasks are a bit simpler.
