Currently booked port side forward deck 7 in a connecting room with my parents. I did not actually want a connecting room and I am paying for this trip. could switch to 7500 (starboard). Anyone here have that room before?

We just got off the Magic and we were in 7548. I prefer starboard because you usually get better views at the ports but that is not always the case. I think the views on this cruise were pretty equal on both sides (Scandinavia & Fjords).

That being said, we had room 7000 on the Magic last year, which is the equivalent to 7500 on the port side and we really liked that room. Very quiet because it was at the end of the hallway. There is a door leading to the officers' quarters next to the room but that was pretty much it. Would definitely book that room again (on either side of the ship). We like being forward because we spend more time in the adult areas and in the Walt Disney Theater than we do at the restaurants. But if there is a complaint, it would be the distance to walk to get to the restaurants and Cabanas. Did not bother me at all though. We love that location.

You don’t say which itinerary you’re doing but if you’re doing the Mediterranean it really doesn’t matter what side you’re on as most of the ports are not that scenic, rather more industrial type areas.

We had Wonder 8006 (verandah) for our Alaska cruise a couple of years ago. All was great until our glacier day when we park in the bay for the day and the ship rotates so all can view the ice. It was dead calm. We went out on our verandah to take a look and everything was covered in white stuff, then we smelled the smoke...yikes! The smoking section was right above us and a slew of people were hanging on the rail smoking and flipping their ashes overboard...on us. We complained to guest services and they roped them off the rail, but the smoke continued. We have had staterooms in that area on the Wonder and Magic on three other cruises with no problems because we were always moving or the wind was blowing. That one day in Alaska was a mess...do not get a stateroom on the port side forward if you are headed that way...switch to the 7 or 8500s...starboard.
