Hello All!
Welcome to this thread for December 2011!
We're all excited to be going back onto the Magic! We were on the Magic in Dec 2009 for our first Disney Cruise and met some really great people online and later on the ship!
We're ready to meet new friends and continue with all the Magic that Disney provides:banana::yay:
We're a family of 5 in connecting staterooms. (booked onboard for the added discount) Even managed to get the same staterooms we had on the last cruise! (Hmmm, wonder if it will look any different?:rolleyes1)
Anyway, our group consists of:
DH (Me) - Barry - 46 by cruise date
DW-Christine - (A lady never tells her age but somewhat close to mine)
DS-Erik - 10
DD-Holly - 8
DS-Peter - 4
To any new posters on this thread, please remember that this is a public board, meaning ANYONE can read your posts whether they are cruising with us or not so I'd recommend no addresses, phone numbers etc. unless it's via PM to people you really trust.
Really looking forward to meeting everyone! It's going to be great to get a pre-warming before Christmas and a Canadian Winter eh?

I have added your thread to the 2011 Magic Cruise Meet list :thumbsup2

We'll be there! DH, myself, my parents, and my Brother. No kids in the bunch!

Welcome Angelhalo! I've had this thread started back on January 10! Glad to finally have someone along for the fun! (at least we won't be alone for the cruise):goodvibes
No Kids?
No worries, our last DCL cruise had many couples with no kids, including one young couple who left their kiddies at home so they could enjoy it just for themselves! Our tablemates were also travelling with no kids. This time of year for the cruise I imagine boasts a lot of couples like that. Everybody had a good time.
Noticed you're from Charlotte, N.C. Been there a few times for conferences. Only a 12 hour drive from here. Love the city.
I'll be happy to communicate here, but we may not be going on this cruise anymore:scared1: DW wants to delay it one more year, so when the new schedule comes out for 2012 cruises, we're likely moving over to there. Love the cruise, but many other things to see on land as well.
Have fun!

My family has booked this cruise! We have confirmation and booked 5 rooms so far. We might be adding in another 5 or 6 rooms as the year goes on.

Currently booked are myself, DH and our 2 girls (who will be 7 and turning 6 during the cruise), my parents, my sister and BIL (who will have a 14 month old at the time of sailing), BIL's parents, BIL's brother and wife and their two kiddos. 10 adults and 5 kids!

We are waiting to hear back from DH's dad and step-mom and DH's brother, DH's mom, my grandparents, my great-uncle, my cousin and her hubby and their 3 kids. 9 more adults and 3 more kids!

This will be me and DH's first "big family vacation" since we had the girls and we are so looking forward to this. We had planned on doing the Holiday Cruise but decided instead to do the cruise two weeks prior and use the money we "saved" by going earlier to spend a week at WDW. Two vacations for the price of one!

I will be sailing on this cruise as well. The men are staying at home to do their guy golfing trips, since they're not big on Disney. The Moms are taking the kids on a Disney cruise.

In one cabin we'll have:
Myself, Carrie (34 at cruise time)
DS, Tyler (7)
Infant due in January, yet to be named (11 months at cruise time)

In the other we'll have my friend's family:
Gina (30-something)
DD, Tessa (16)
DD, Mikala (8)
DD, Cora (7)

I have one of the Secret Verandah cabins, and Gina has one of the Secret Porthole cabins.

All of the kids are super excited about the kids clubs. We're big Disney World fans and are looking forward to our first cruise.

Sounds like all of you will be having a great time. My family just returned from a Bahama Disney Wonder cruise. I'm curious about the Secret Verandah and Secret Porthole cabins. Why are they secret and where are they located? Thanks in advance.

Secret porthole rooms are cabins 5520, 5522, 5524, 5020, 5022, & 5024
You get a porthole for the price of an inside cabin.

Secret verandah rooms are cabins are cabins 7620, 7120, 6634, & 6134.
You get a verandah with a slightly obstructed top for the price of a Navigator's. I'm thinking its a Cat 7 price.

You can view pictures and see a better explanation at disneycruiser . info
Halfway down the home page you'll see a light blue box with links for Secret Porthole Rooms and Secret Verandah Rooms.

My husband and I really hope to be on this cruise. We will most likely no for sure once Spring 2011 hits. But if we get enough pixie dust thrown our way then it will be. We had to postpone our 2010 Dec Cruise to a job relocation and we are now trying to sell our old house. Sooo that is our story.

Me (Kristin) 38
Greg 41
Miranda 16
Meagan 13....turning 14 on cruise!!

Hi everyone we are also going to be on this cruise too!!!
We are Me - Donna 37 Single mum (Sorry I mean MOM yes I am british lol):lmao:
DD1 - Amber 14
DD2 - Morgan 11
DS - Rocco 1yr 11 mnths

(These ages are correct for time of cruise!)

This will be our first ever cruise and we are all really excited:woohoo::dance3::banana::cool1: and I am really looking forward to meeting all my shipmates!:wizard:
Hope to speak to you all soon x x

Hello Everyone!

Our family of 5 will be on this cruise also. This is our first cruise, I'm sure we have so much to learn. Our family:

me - age 41
husband - 43
Nicole - 12 (time of sailing)
Drew - 9 (time of sailing)
Luke - 6 (time of sailing)

We have booked joining room (hopefully the right choice). Our kids are all shy so we are hoping they meets up with other kids their age to hang out with.

We are looking at going to Port Canaveral the night before the cruise? Can anyone recommend a hotel and/or a transportation company to get us from the airport to the hotel near the port?

We are also Canadian (eh).

Greetings Fellow Canadians! While we're not going on this cruise anymore, we did just get back from a Carnival cruise in December. In that case, we rented a car and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in CC. What many have done however is booked the Country Inn & Suites. It has a free shuttle to the port in the AM so you can return your rental car on the Friday and relax on Saturday AM as the hotel will get you there. The main thing is to book the airport shuttle ASAP for the morning.

You're going to have a great time! Wish we're going with you too, but it will have to wait until 2012. (When the darn 2012 DCL eventually comes out!:sad2:)

Sorry to here you are not going on the Disney Cruise. How was the Carnival cruise over the Disney cruise? Just booked at Country Inn and Suites (kids suite). What car rental company did you use? When you dropped your rental car off Friday night how did you get back to your hotel?

Carnival Cruise over a Disney Cruise???? Ha Ha!:rotfl2: It's nothing compared to Disney! Me in my budget-mindedness booked 2 balcony cabins for 1/2 the cost of an outside pair of staterooms on the Magic the previous year. While we saved money, the vacation was not nearly the vacation that the Magic was in 2009! Your kids are the right age and you'll have a 'Magical Vacation'!
I used my Aeroplan miles to book Avis. We picked up at MCO and dropped off at Cape Canaveral no problem and vice versa for the return to MCO. The rental agency will drop you off at the hotel, esp. if they are dropping more off at the port since the CI&S is right along the way to the port from AVIS.
Not sure where in Canada you are, but I'd suggest you fly out of Buffalo if you're in the GTA. With that many travelling with you, it will be a great cost savings.
If you're close to Mississauga, I may ask a favour of you if you have a chance as well. Once you have over 5 posts, you can send private messages to other board members and then we can talk. There's a Castaway Cay mug I'd love to get for DW. She got me one for Christmas 2009 and I think she needs a complimentary one. Of course, I'll pay you back.

Thanks for the AVIS information. We are from Windsor so we are hoping to fly out of Detroit. Probally use Delta since they have direct flights. No problem with picking up the mug for you.

Hello, fellow cruisers!

We've been to WDW, DL & cruised on Carnival. But, this will be our FIRST Disney Cruise and we are SO excited!!

Looking forward to meeting up with other DISers onboard!

Also, I'm very interested in doing this "Fish Exchange" I've seen so much about here on DIS. Anybody else interested in this? How do we organize it? Sounds like so much fun for my kids. (They'll be 14, 12 & 6 at embarkation.)

Hiya its our first cruise too and I also love the idea of the fish exchange so I would definately be up for that!

Excellent! I've been reading about FE here and there on the board and it looks like most groups don't finalize their exchange until 5-6 weeks before the cruise. Seems like a long time to wait... especially when I'm SO ready for this trip! But, we should have a lot more cruisers on here to participate by then. Hopefully a few won't "newbies" to the whole thing and can help us organize it.

It looks like your oldest two will be about the same ages as my oldest two come vacation time (DS will have just turned 12). We'll definately have to put together some type of a little "meet & greet" to introduce them (and US!). So glad to see there will be at least one other 14 yo girl on board. ;) Gotta admit I'm more than just a tad intimidated by the idea of my 14 yo daughter spending late nights corralled at Vibe with a bunch of 16-17 yo boys!

lol well my 14 yo is taking the stance that she isn't going to the "kids club" (as she puts it) lol I think she thinks its gonna be full of little kids and a bit like the kids clubs in resorts in the med and such! I will def convince her to go in tho when we get on board! DD2 will be 11 a month before we sail so yes about the same age as yours. Meeting up would be a good idea once onboard as DD1 is fine with other kids her age and if there is at least 1 other girl her age that she has met beforehand going to the teen clubs I'm sure there will be no stopping her! (At least thats what I'm hoping) lol are you spending time at Disney before/after the cruise?

My group has grown exponentially since this time last year!

Now we have not only the group of 15 originally booked. But we have added DH's parents and brother/SIL, an extra cousin, my grandparents, aunt and uncle and my sisters neighbor (husband, wife and kiddo) so we are now up to 27 people - 21 adults and 6 kids under the age of 7!

I apologize in advance if we end up being a bit loud and obnoxious. :confused3 :rotfl:

Most of us have cruised before, but this is our first Disney cruise and we are all very excited about it!
