I'm just kidding. I have several, but they're all at my parents' house.

Ok, I was worried. There are certain things I just can't pass up.

My partner and I collect hand blown glass (current artist). I use to be a glassblower for about 15 years. I don't blow glass anymore, so we collect it instead. I had JUST paid off ALL credit cards, when our friend at the gallery we shop at frequently called me up and said, "Hey, I just was able to buy a Dale Chihuly piece for 900 bucks, you want it? I bought it specifically for you since we know you would want one." Normally his studio pieces start at 4000-8000.

I don't care HOW broke I am, if it's something I can't pass up.....well, we find a way.

I need help........

BUT at 8.00 for 7 oz that is a very expensive candy - since you HAVE to buy 3 bags - with shipping over 45.00 for 21 oz of candy. OUCH.

HOLY CRAP! Those are way too expensive. I'll stick to the cheap kind with the "M" from Target. In fact, I'll wait until the day after Easter to buy them so they'll be half price.

Yeah.....My studio partner (we owned our own hot shop in Topeka Kansas for a few years) and I got to work for him one summer and get to meet with him every time he's in town for an event. Quite the unique gentleman that's for sure.

He's an amazing glass designer/artist.

From what I've been told, you can also have your own face/picture put on M&M's.....but I'm not sure if it was a limited time deal or not.

Wow, that's incredible. They had a Chihuly show here at the museum in Orlando. Absolutely amazing work. Unusual is the definite understatement, eh?

If you ever come to Columbus the Franklin Park Conservatory has tons of Chihuly's pieces on display. Everything from chandeliers to bowls and even floating pieces that float around the small channels of water. But....you might want to bring a sedative before you go.

Yes probably a good thing. Especially if any of them feature Tigger, Eeyore or Malificent. We's pee our pants at the thoughts of trying to get some of those.

And yes, Chihuly has been doing a lot of Conservatories and Gardens lately. His last show we saw at a small private gallery here in Dallas.

Just remember.....M&M's are round. You might be able to squeeze my head on them.....but that's about it. Otherwise you'd have to use a super magnifying glass to see what would otherwise look like a small blurry mess.

Is that a permanent collection? I love Chihuly and was surprised how little of his work I could find on display on my last Seattle trip (did find several places, including some small pieces on sale -- but still out of my price range). Have seen some wonderful pieces in Vegas and Amsterdam (tempted to go on a Disney cruise just to sit in the lobby under the chandelier). Most of my glass collection is antique pressed pattern glass (EAPG) -- which is totally different, but I'm in awe and love all things glass.

The collection at the Conservatory is permanent, and has been there for at least a few years. They have apparently gotten some new Chihuly pieces in their collection, are "sprucing up" what's already there, and are now referring to this as the "2009 Collection".

There's also a gallery downtown (the name has slipped my mind) that has had several large Chihuly pieces in its collection for the past several months. You're right--They're very pricey. Last year I know one of the small bowls (around 4" deep and 6" wide) on display at the Conservatory was going for something like $1000.

I visit his site every few weeks, have about 6 coffee table books, a few of his DVD's and usually see his show here in Dallas once a year. I get my fill of Chihuly. I wish that he had some sort of permanent collection here. I'm really surprised since Dallas has been one of his strongest markets. He usually sells every piece in a gallery showing each time. Still no word on getting OUR piece at a ridiculously discounted rate. I need to make another phone call.

It would complete our collection nicely.

That still doesn't mean you shouldn't come up for a visit. Columbus is an amazing city with tons to see and do.

Actually, I take that back. Columbus isn't too bad. It's been considered one of the top five gay-friendly cities in the US. The biggest problem I have is what the mayor allowed downtown to become due to bad decision-making: A ghost town everyday after 5pm.
