Disney luggage!

I hope this is the right place for this post. We previously bought the Disney Store create-your-own personalized large duffel bags with Mickey on them for our three boys. We love the bags, they love the bags, it's so fun to take them to Disney, plenty of space - they were great!

Until baggage fees. Now, we're looking for rolling carry-on replacements, and the create-your-owns are $64 each at the Disney Store. Luggage went on Deal of the Day yesterday, but did not include these. Our boys range in age from pre-school to pre-teen, so we're looking for something that can take them into teen years. Does anyone have any alternative ideas to share? Does anyone have the Disney Store rolling carry-ons? If so, do you think they are they worth it at $64 each?

We do not fly so I am not sure what the luggage fees are....but would the fee from the airline be more than the $64 for the new rolling carry ons? Not to mention the hassel of trying to fit all the rolling carry ons in the overhead and dragging them through the airport...just a thought.

I think she is planning on using the luggage for many years. Since it cost $20 a leg to fly your checked luggage ($40 RT), it could save alot of money to use carry-ons.

The only DS luggage that I have are the toddler size. They have held up pretty well but I don't think they have been thru the trials of checked luggage. I also have a rolling carry-on from DCL which I love. I have had it for five years and it has been checked. Looks as good as new.

I bought an LL Bean carryon that was max allowable size. A lot of carryons are an inch or two under the max size, which can make a difference.

LL Bean is a little expensive up front, but their lifetime guarantee can't be beat.

If money were no object, I'd buy LL Bean in a heartbeat. They last forever. DH's backpack has held up for 12 years-it's been backpacking through the UK, carried all his books his senior year in high school through 4 years of college, has been his carryon for all our vacations, and is his "overnight bag". It looks new. I work at a summer camp and see the abuse the LL Bean duffles take year after year and never has one worn out or broken.

Maybe get an LL Bean one for each with their intitials? They will last them for years, can be taken to college, and onward. If you want to Disneyfy them, add some Disney keychains to the zippers or an iron-on patch.

I was going to buy DDs the personalized Disney rolling duffles a week or so ago when they were on sale, free personalization, and free shipping but decided not to after getting a lot of negative reviews by people who have them or other Disney luggage. They said that they rip easily, don't roll well and really aren't worth the price. I was very disappointed because they were really cute and would have made a great Christmas gift but I didn't order them.
