Disney luggage tags

For anyone using Disney's ME, did you receive any souvenier luggage tags? I don't mean the ME yellow tags. Last year when we travelled we received luggage tags with a hollogram type picture if the castle which was very nice. I thought I read somewhere we should have them but we haven't received any as of yet.

it's a gift for booking a package through DTC (although I think you get it if you go through AAA as well, maybe other TAs).

so if you booked a package through Disney, you most definitely should get it, along with a bunch of other stuff/vouchers. if you went through someone besides disney, it will go to them.

How long before your trip do peopel usually receive all that stuff?

Yeh, the souvenir luggage tags are for PACKAGES; you won't receive them if you booked room-only. Even if you booked through a travel agent, the travel agent booked it through WDTC, and thus everyone who books a package (no matter how) gets all the amenities of booking a package.

I think maybe you receive it after final payment is due. For packages, final payments are due no later than 45 days prior to departure.

The only time that we ahve received them wa swhen we booked a package, with that being said I believe that we received them betwen 2-4 weeks prior to our arrival date. If you boked a package and have not received them within 2 weeks of your travel date I woudl call and find out where they are as there is usually vouchers and other info with them.

For my April trip, I made my final payment on 3/5. I don't remember exactly when I received my paperwork and luggage tags, but they were postmarked 3/14. Luggage tags are different this year; blue sky with clouds in front of castle in the background and the words "Where Dreams Come True"

i think you're meant to get them mailed out about 45 days prior to check-in. you know, that special date that you can no longer cancel your package because you know otherwise people would be booking packages for the goods and then canceling.

My parents booked our room and we got the tickets w/the free upgrades along w/the DDP and ME but not our flights so should we expect to get the cool luggage tags?? We paid off the vacation last weekend so we should expect our stuff within a few wks for our May 12th departure correct??

well, according to my math (or the math of a date calculator i found on the web), 45 days out from may 12 is march 28 which would have been 2 days ago so yes, i'd expect it any day now, unless you went through a TA who will receive it on your behalf.

No, we called disney directly which was useful b/c we did get the ticket upgrade and some sort of discount on our DDP b/c they messed up the prices of the flights that they were going to offer us (how nice of them!!) but we booked everything except our flights through disney so I will be thrilled when our stuff arrives, I just have to get through school, finals, and graduation first!!

I booked my trip through Disney, but booked my airline tix on my own. I did go back to my reservations page and add my flight info because we plan on using Magic Express and not renting a car. So I guess they did know we were flying in before they mailed my packet out.

Oh, I will have to double check with my dad that disney knows about our flights cuz we had a lot of flight change problems and problems booking our seats etc. but my dad is usually on top of things so I'm sure he took care of everything..thanks for the help everyone, I cant wait to go!!!

The souvenir luggage tag isn't (or shouldn't be) dependent on your flight plans. As far as I know, every party booking a Walt Disney World Vacation Package is entitled to one 'fancy' luggage tag. Doesn't matter how you're getting there, or home, or even if you live up the street from the parks.

We booked through the Disney site. We are scheduled to travel April 30 with a magic your way package. We are fully paid up and it was about 2 weeks ago I guess it was paid. I booked the trip back in early February, and we haven't received anything from Disney only the ME yellow tags. Hopefully it'll soon show up.

March 13 was 45 days out - almost like clockwork, the vouchers with the luggage tags arrived this week (30 days out).

Those tags are very handy. I never use them when traveling to Orlando, but I put a couple of them on my bags when I travel anywhere else (which is often). They are easy to distinguish in Denver, for example.
