DLP in Nov I am not using points can someone tell me about the different hotels? Not looking for 5 star just some reviews and would you stay again? Also DLP reviews place to eat

We went to DLP in 2011 prior to our Med cruise. I still have a link to my trip report in my siggie with lots of pictures and details included if you want to check it out. We decided the DLP hotels were not worth the points (at least for a summer visit) so we paid cash for a pkg. At that time too they also required that you purchase "length of stay" park tix. We were planning to spend 4 nights in Paris but wanted 2 days at DLP and 2 days for sightseeing so we couldn't justify buying 5 days of park tix (it would've had to have been a 4 n / 5 day pkg). So this was another reason we opted to just book a 1 n / 2 day pkg. there at one of their "value" resorts then we moved into the city for 3 nights to sightsee (SO glad we did that too as we really liked being IN the city).

After spending some time on the DLP board and talking to some of the European people on our cruise meet thread we chose the Hotel Cheyenne due to its theming. We knew we'd only be there long enough to crash for 1 night so we figured we could get by. We DID survive however I probably wouldn't book anything less than one of their "moderate" hotels if we were to ever return - and actually I would probably go for what they call a "deluxe" level hotel. I believe their "moderates" are more in line with the WDW "values" and their "deluxe" resorts are more like our "moderates". From what I gathered the DLP hotels are all pretty much a step below all of the WDW properties. The hotel Cheyenne was themed really nicely but I would say was below a WDW "value". It needed some attention from housekeeping for sure (there was no elevator and we passed the same crumbs on the stairs both days we were there) and the furniture was a little on the beat up side in the room.

(Per recommendations from folks on the DLP board I had signed up for emails from the DLP website for specials on rates & park tix etc. They don't start booking or posting their rates as far in advance there as they do here. I got an email special with a code for 30% off packages so I got a deal for something like $510 - this was was for 3 ppl and incl. the "value" room for 1 n and 2 days of park hopper tix & breakfast.) I'm sure the conversion rate affected how much we paid too.

I cannot really recommend any places to eat onsite - you can find out some stuff tho here on the DLP board. At the time that we went the USD / Euro conversion rate was reallllly bad. So even a Croque Monsier sandwich (basically a grilled cheese) was like $14. Our time and money was limited so we just ate CS meals while we were there and I honestly don't remember much about any of our meals at DLP other than the breakfast - which was pretty bad. We had much better meals in the city once we changed to our 2nd hotel. We had a delightful lunch near the Arc de Triomphe and a wonderful dinner one night near the Eiffel Tower. But the DLP meals were forgettable.

Have fun planning and ask me anything you want if you have questions. Paris is a wonderful city - have fun!!
