Very stressful year but I can see the rainbow at the end this summer. Disney is pure escapism, one of the few places I can leave the cares of the world behind. Have a 9 night stay with my 11 year old (longest stay ever for us) at the CSR and Poly, ex-wife granted me a extra day with my wonderful daughter, woohoo!

I had stopped thinking about our vacation but now we are down to 124 days and it is feeling close. Last year when we came back a mother of my kid's friend got all excited and committed to going with us but I could tell it wasn't serious, sure enough it fell through. Her child has never had a vacation and spends the summer watching tv and eating which saddens me, it isn't because of money either...

Congratulations! I hope you and your kiddo have a wonderful time! And the nice thing about that long a trip is you have some time to relax between parks. :)

I know exactly what you mean - my trip is about 2 months away and I think about it constantly. First time going with my boyfriend. I'm soooo excited!

yup dreaming about our 1st mother/son 2 wk WDW vacation this Aug helps me get through the dreary winter

50 days from right now or 1200 hours....

I will be boarding my flight in Buffalo!!

For our 12 day trip to WDW (our longest ever as well)...

Can't wait!

My Mother and Niece will be joining DW and DD for the first 5 days and then MIL, FIL, BIL & Fiance will be joining us for the second week.... and there is even a Kissimmee wedding thrown in....

I can totally relate to the escapism thought!

Hi: You will have a wonderful time. I too feel that Disney is like my place to forget about all the stresses of life.

My first visit (I was 38) was the year I started taking care of my dear father who was diagnosed with alzheimers disease as well as my own two children. It was a welcome retreat to go to wdw and try to get happy again. That was many years ago, and because of that I alway feel it is like a relief and a high just to get in that car and start driving to florida and know we are going on a holiday.

I couldn't agree with you more, montblanc! If it wasn't for our WDW trip, I would have a nervous breakdown. My Dad is going through chemo and radiation for lung cancer. He is at that terrible stage where he is totally wiped out and in pain from the treatments. He and my Mom have said not to cancel our trip. I have to admit, my trip planning is holding me together. I fear that after our trip, I will finally break down from the stress.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Isn't it funny how with all the terrible things that we see in the world today, such a small thing as a trip to Disney can make these things seem to disappear for a while. :flower: My hope is for the time when everyday will be as wonderful as the time we spend with our families at this happy place. :goodvibes

I feel the same way. Its what keeps me going every day and makes me do all the work I don't want to do because I know that the money I make doing that work is what will bring me to Disney.

Have a good time

I know what you mean too! There is just nothing like the magic of WDW and you can't really explain it to anyone who's never been. We went 2 summers ago for the first time with our DD's (10 and 4 at the time). I didn't know when we'd be getting to to back again and we always talk about when we go again. We're now getting to go again this June! I'm so excited that I can hardly stand it! We told our girls the news last Friday night and now they are just on cloud 9 with the excitement of thinking about and planning our trip. :cloud9: There truly is no place like it on earth! I think it would make Walt Disney feel so good to know what MAGIC he has given to the world! :disrocks:

MontBlanc- I HEARTILY second that motion!!!! It has been a long and difficult year for me...I'm a teacher and our group of students this year is so needy, irresponsible, and have parents who just aren't there for them. Little things I have to do for them each day that I shouldn't need to say or do really zap my energy! I live on these boards when I get any free time. Our WDW vacation is a week after school lets out so it will indeed be a VACATION!!!!

I'm with you....enjoy your countdown and then each precious memory you make with your daughter at WDW!
