It's for all who are children at heart...

I have been seeing many threads and responses here lately where if someone posts about BADLY BEHAVING children then others post about Disney being for children and basically if you don't believe that then you shouldn't vacation there. Ridiculous. Disney is for EVERYONE, but please, behave and be respectfully of others, no matter what your age.

That is all.

IMHO, Disney is for grown-ups, too.

But, grown-ups, you are aware that kids GO there. If you're going to go, you have to expect all the stuff that goes with kids, like screaming, laughing, crying, and jumping around. If you can't stand children, WDW might not be the best vacation choice.

Not to say that parents should allow their kids to ruin other people's good time. Firm believer in getting the offending munchkin out of the way. Also don't like, "Michael. Michael, stop it. Michael. Michael, I mean it. I'm going to count to three! 1...2...3. Michael! Stop it now! Michael!" :faint: Would rather have kid behaving poorly than kid behaving poorly and mom counting.

I totally agree!!! I would hate to think I could not go back because my children would rather do other things; whatever that would mean :confused3 ...like something would be better than Disney.

Still loving Disney at 40!!!

We just got back from our trip....We had to use two strollers this time...DS(3) just needed an umbrella type stroller for those "I can't walk anymore" times. My DD (6 months) needed the bigger type, of course- can't walk.

So, in the midst of the crowds after the parade in MK...I heard, "This is not a place for strollers!" "Kids should be in the bed, by now!" You have got to be kidding me....my kids loved the parade!! We even napped in the afternoon, just to be able to see the parade.

Disney is for all ages!! I think if you are wanting an adult only trip- no kids in the midst at all...try Sandals Resort!

Hubby and I have been without the kids and had a great time...i absolutely think that adults can just go...

Dare I jump in here??? :confused3 Here goes...I think I know which thread you are reacting to and I understand why you feel as you do. I hate it when kids run completely amok and parents are either oblivious, ineffective, or worse, complicit to the bad behavior. Most of us, when our kids are disruptive, step in to modify the behavior. The problem is, "bad" behavior is sometimes rather subjective. Just as there are people defending their wild kids on the Disboards, there are people who appear to vehemently dislike kids. Many people without kids or whose kids are long grown have VERY unrealistic expectations of how well kids are able to behave, especially in a very stimulating environment. Please remember, kids are not little adults - they cry, melt down, vomit, pick their noses etc. (so maybe they are like little adults ;) ) Some are better able than others to manage their emotions. Some are, of course, better supervised than others. Some, like one of mine, have hidden disabilities and are developmentally delayed so they appear to be acting more immature than you would expect. I would never, ever suggest that someone without children not go to WDW (I am going with my sister in 37 days w/o kids!!!), but I would ask that those who do be more realistic and tolerant.

This has been my two cents... for what it is worth :)
