Disney is #1, but does anyone compare?

we booked our rccl cruise through our aaa ta. the cruise was a gift as well as very last minute so i didn't have time to do much comparison shopping. aaa is very good at disney and, at least for this trip, did a great job with rccl. for major vacations i like to use a ta so i have someone to yell at when things go south. also our ta knows us and can make arrangements that are particular to us. for example we always fly direct if possible and on cruises we don't like to eat with other people. our ta anticipates those requests. she also has access to information that i can't seem to get on the net.

princess dosne't compare to disney!!!!! Disney was way better than princess!!!!

we are just back from the 7 day western itinerary out of miami on the voyager of the seas. We have been on disney twice and princess three times. the voyager blew them both away by far. the pricing is much more reasonable. we had two side by side inside cabins. they each measured 160 feet and were very nicely set up. there was so much to do. the kids' clubs were not as organized, but the kids loved them anyway. the ice skating show was the most incredible show we have seen while at sea. the ship is absolutely stunning. the dining room is three levels high and is spectacular. my kids are 6 and 9. they took ice skating lessons, climbed the rock wall, played mini golf, etc. the pool area was probably the strongest feature compared to the disney ships. on disney, the pools were so packed that the kids could not swim. the goofy pool is a joke. the mickey pool is a nightmare! on the voyager, the pools were much larger and set side by side. even with the 3600 passengers on board (including 1200 kids!!), the pools were not claustrophobic. the slide was on a separate deck with a separate kids' pool. while on board, we rebooked and cancelled the pending disney cruise as soon as we got home.
my kids told us that they much preferred the voyager. btw, we paid the same price for 2 inside cabins on voyager for easter week as we were going to pay for a minimum category inside stateroom on disney in the off season!
while we really enjoyed the disney ship experience, we preferred the rccl ship.

Who did you book through? Did you book directly with RCCL or with a TA?
Thanks,
DJ

booked through costco. rccl does not allow agents to discount their cruises. some of them get around this by giving back gift cards, bottles of wine, etc. for the cruise we just took, we received back 2 $75. cards, one for each cabin.
when we rebooked on board, the rebooking incentive from rccl was $200 per cabin. they also offered a preferred costco rate that was $100 cheaper per cabin. when i called costco when reaching home, they confirmed that they were going to give an additional $125 gift card per cabin.
my only complaint about costco is that you have to wait on hold for up to half an hour at peak times.

I called and talked to a RCCL representative, then booked my cruise through their online website. Had no problems at all and talked to guest services several times before we left.

I book my own air and hotels.

I thought the Mariner was a great value for the money and we will go again. I am hoping that dh and I can go on a cruise ourselves to celebrate our upcoming anniversary! A group of us are planning a cruise for spring break 2007 and we will definetely do a RCCL voyager class. For the price, you can't beat it!
