Hey I am on my way to WDW September 10th through the 15th and was wondering what the crowd situtation is. I know all the guides say it's a less crowed time but i was wondering what "real park goers" think. any little will help. Thanks! D-

We just got back this afternoon and the crowds aren't that bad. The worst line i experienced was Expedition Everest which was a 70 minute wait at around 1:30pm. At 3:30pm it was at 20 minutes.

Be prepared to sweat like a dog. The heat isn't that bad, but the humidity is oppressive. I'll NEVER go back during the summer. We'll just stick to MVMCP as we always have and enjoy the cooler weather along with less crowds (usually 2nd week of December - after POP Warner). Not even a DEEP discount will get me back there during this time.

thanks for the info. i was hoping it wouldn't be to bad since most kids would be back at school. as for the heat nothing could be worset then the time i was ther efor fouth of july and it was 102 in the shade!!!!!!

So hoping for low crowds...I can stand the heat somewhat but not huge lines for rides. The last time I was in MK was May, 1993 (on my HS senior trip!) and I only rode 3 or 4 rides the whole day since it was so crowded! (plus I didnt do any planning!)

I cant wait for this trip, only about a week and a half to go!

We went to WDW in Sept 2004. It was very hot and humid. This was before the free DDP and the parks were not crowded at all. I think the longest line was probably 10 minutes. We loved it! We spent 1 day at TL and I think there were less than 50 people in the whole park for couple of hours after they opened.

I've been to Disney World in September in 2002, 2003, 2005, and I'm going back next week.

The crowds are low, but the humidity is high. For me, that is a small price to pay for being able to ride your favorite attractions in a short amount of time. I get to the park at open, leave around noon to shower and change, then return about 5pm. This year I plan to do the same. I also followed touringplans suggestions for what park to visit on certain days. If you have time, take a look at the pictures in my trip report to get an idea about the crowds.

I went last September and am going back this September too (yea!). I agree with everyone else about the humidity. Just even leaving your room in the morning, your camera would fog up! and then just walking through the parks you would sweat! (lovely, I know, but so true). The lines were not too bad but it did rain every day we were there for at least 10-20 minutes if not more. Obviously that did not deter us from going again this year! :goodvibes

Our trip last year began on 9/9. Yes, it was humid and hot, but we never waited for a ride! We're spoiled now and hoping that Oct. will bring no lines too! (but doubtful)

We'll be going this September (20 days from today to be exact! :cool1: ) - our first September trip (oops... previously I had written our first trip!)

Glendamax... LOVED your trip report. Thanks for the link. And the TIPS were awesome.

Here's hoping that the rest of your "countdown days" go by REALLY REALLY fast! :wave2:

My dd7 and I are heading down on 9/20 until 9/25. we live in charleston, so we are accustomed to not being able to breathe as soon as we walk out the door. it's worth it to me to save all the money i saved by going in september. we are keeping our fingers crossed for low crowds!! :wizard:

I will go the same day you are going (Sep 10th), hoping for the low crowds, as kids will be back to school.

We'll be seeing you there...we'll be there 9/10-9/16. This is our first time in September so it'll be interesting comparing the crowds to our normal June trips. We're all for heat and humidity though...we LOVE it!

Well, we went in September 2003.... There were very low crowd levels..... (also, that is before free dining).. It was very warm, around high 80's or low 90's... and it rained almost every day... (not the whole day... just a small portion of it)... I loved September........ Last year we went in October, loved October too!

Glendamax - loved your trip report, and seeing the pics from last year made me feel pretty good about the crowds for Sept.
We were there in May of 05 and everything I have seen seems to indicate that the September crowds are about the same and maybe even a bit better than May, and May was not bad at all.
We are 16 days away! Happy trails to all our fellow September visiters!

We Went Once, In Dec. And It Was Really Crowded, So We Went Back Back To The Sept. Month. We Can Take The Heat, But Not The Long Lines

Glendamax.... Are you ever worried about the weather, We loved September, especially the very low crowds, didn't mind the heat.... We went 9/2003 and didn't hit any serious weather, but since then, I have been nervous about re-going in September! I would love to go when they are having free dining (you can't really beat that) We went last October and paid for the dining plan and thought that it was well worth it, BUT FREE... yeah, that would be a bonus....

Just curious????? We are going next year and are trying to weigh out the pro's and con's.... And since you seem to be a Septmber pro, figured I would ask you!!! Also, were the crowds bigger last year when they offered free dining? compared to the September's in past past with no free dining?

Thank you in advance for all your insight..... :mickeyjum

now, I am not 100% sure.... BUT, I am guessing you will love the crowd difference! HUGE difference!!!!

Disney's Fab 4...My wife and I leave tomorrow and it will be our second time September. We were also there in 9/2003 and I don't think it will ever be as perfect as that trip. Literally didn't rain once and there was no humidity. I know it's too unreal to believe but it happened. With that said, we are expecting crowds to be somewhat similar to that trip, non-existent by Disney standards, but are definitely expecting full on heat. Will let you know when we get back!!!
