Having been to Disney a few times over the last few years, we love it. That is of course since we have always went in early November. Small crowds, nice temps !! Now, we have family going for the week of June 11 and have the opportunity to go along. I hate to pass up the chance to go, BUT I need to know from some "experts" how bad (or not) it will be. I'm worrying about the crowds more than anything. Is there a chance that the summer rush may start a week or so later? Even using the "fastpass", how long are the lines for some of our favorites like the Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, etc.? How about the shows, like Indiana Jones? I am realistic that it will be a totally different experience going in June versus November, but need some reassurance that it can't be all that bad !! Final note, I'm talking about travelling with our three kids (7,9,12). We have always taken them out of school for a week in November to enjoy the SLOW times at WDW !!

Hi markel! :wave2: And Welcome to the DIS!!

It will be more crowed than you are used to in November, but it will be ok. If you read these boards and learn more about strategy than you had to do before you will be fine. The crowds will just get bigger and bigger the later you go in the summer, so early June is better than July (typically). I would suggest getting the Unofficial Guide to WDW book, they have some good touring plans in there for managing the crowds.

As far as wait times, if you fast pass you will get on the rides in 15 minutes or less when you return for your ride time. If you got in line for that ride without the fast pass you may have a wait time as long as an hour for rides like RnR. I would suggest talking to your kids to prepare them for the wait times being longer than they are used to (I also have hard candies with me for when grumpiness sets in :flower:).

Also, just FYI, the e-ticket type rides you are talking about will run out of fast passes by late afternoon if the parks are really crowded, so be aware of that.

Also, in June it will rain more than you are used to in November, so be prepared for that too. :umbrella: We actually like it when it rains though, it clears out the parks and cools things off a bit. Be ready to buy those Mickey ponchos or bring some from home! And pack shoes that take getting wet, or plan on back-ups!

It may not rain at all though. It has been our experience that the later you go in the summer the larger the crowds get and the higher chance you will get rained on!

Have fun! We like going in June! :cheer2: Of course we just like going, so anytime if fine with me!!

We have visited WDW in early June the last 3 years and have found the crowds and weather very manageable. It will rain a little every day (although last June we had torrential downpours every day :umbrella: ). Most wait times are not too bad--we generally use FP when posted wait times are greater than 30 minutes. As far as the shows go, we try to arrive at least an hour before most of the shows--they can fill up pretty quickly. With a little planning and lots of water you can have a great time :sunny:
