Disney In June

We were there from June 21-27 in 2007. It was very hot, but it only rained one time while we were there...and boy did it rain on that particular night!! However, it was extremely crowded during our stay. It was wall to wall people walking around the parks at night...a big difference from the late August crowds. I would definitely recommend getting to the parks at rope drop. Despite the crowds, June is still a fun time to go IMO!

Hi ya,

Footwear is a major consideration for the rain.

My DH & DS wore trainers & socks, when it rained they got wet and stayed wet, dried trainers, changed socks but they were still wet & uncomfortable, so they went back to the hotel :(

My DD & I wore Crocs and were comfy all day long :)

My suggestion is not to wear trainers or anything that won't dry out quickly, wear Crocs, flip-flops etc.

Thanks for the warning. We will be there June 21 to June 28. I will have a toddler. Do they sell ponchos that small anywhere?
Hi, we have gone in June and September for years. While I don't have a toddler, I have kids, and have been at WDW around tons of kids in the rain/heat. Yes, it will rain, NO, it will not ruin your day. If your child will be in a stroller, I would recommend using Disney's strollers, because they are plastic and yours won't get soaked, and they can be wiped down if wet. On that note, it is probably not a bad idea to have a beach towel for doing just that. On the subject of ponchos, please have one for the toddler/stroller. I can't tell you how many families that I have walked by with everyone wearing a poncho and the poor child in the stroller getting soaked:scared1:.Maybe an extra large one that can stretch over the stroller would work, with a couple of those hair clippy things to hold the sides:). We have the Mickey ponchos. They sell them in almost every retail shop, I think for $7, adult and child size. We love ours. Have had two of them since 2003. When they tear, you can just take them to any of the stores and they will give you a new one. Can't beat that! Have a wonderful trip!:)
One other thing, I always stuff a couple of Target(they are sturdy)plastic bags in my daybag to put our wet ponchos in until I have a chance to hang them to let them dry. I don't like to put the wet ponchos in a backpack. Once dry, the mickey ones fold up just fine.

Hi! I see you are in KC. We are also in MO. We've been twice in June. The first trip we tried burning the candle at both ends, getting up early, staying late. That didn't work. The last trip we slept late, played at the pool, then went to the parks at night. It did rain a few times. If you don't let that stop you then you can still have a great time. When we were going into AK last time everyone else was leaving. We got wet, but then when the rain stopped the park was empty! One of our best memories is sitting outside watching the ducks and eating our take out from Yak and Yeti. We were soggy, but it was cooler and the people were gone! My advice is to just go with the flow when/if it rains.

Thanks for all the ggod information. I will be there in June too and so am happy to get the advice.
