Disney in July?

The last trip we took was August 2000 and it was packed. The
lines were long and the wait times on the fast pass were longer.
Does anyone have any idea what the summer crowds were like
last year with it being post 9/11? We're scheduled for fun July
26 through August 8.

We were there July 4 - 11 last year and the only crowds were in the Magic Kingdom . . .

The other parks were very workable . . .I really expected that week to be like Easter Week 2000 but I was pleasantly surprised.

Besides the short rain periods throughout the afternoon, we had an awesome time!

We had a great time too. We stayed at the ASM. This time we
will be at the ASMu. By workable crowds, do you mean 30-40
minute wait lines or longer?



Btw, when we went in 2000 we got a fast pass for test track
at 9:30 a.m. The return time was 8:30 p.m. Needless to say we
are looking forward to the Test Track.

Last July (10th - 20th) the crowds were not too bad...we definitely found it less crowded than July 2001. Test Track FPs were still gone fairly early though. We went on Universe of Energy & the whole left section of seats was empty...couldn't believe it.

2000 was the year of the Millenium, and all the parks were crowded. The attendance has dropped each year since then, and is no where near what it was then. We go the July 4th week each year, and if we don't have a problem with crowds, I'm sure you'll be fine the end of July!

mcbreb - Were you there early Aug? I keep reading that mid-late Aug is not too crowded and now you have me worried.

We went the first week in August of 2000. I had forgotten that
the millineum celebrations were that year and the crowds were
horrible. Maybe now that the 2000 mark has passed and as
others have stated the crowds will be less.

We found the crowds in July 2002 lighter than the crowds in late August 2000.
