Visiting disney in december 2004, what can we expect of the weather, and what clothes should we pack?.
Is it a great time to come, christmas decorations and such?

Hi

We've been for the last 2 years and found last year to be much better weather than 02. The weather was warm (we were there from 21stdec til 04 jan). It only rained for 10 minutes in those 2 weeks. Its not boiling hot but it was high 70 for the time we were there.

Hi muppet
Thanks , we have been twice and it was so hot and humid we found it so uncomfortable, coming from england were not used to that type of weather very often.
As long as its mainly dry thats good. The low 70s sounds super.
Thaks again Linda

You'll love it December.

As for summer. Putting up with my stroppy sweaty chap wasn't a good holiday. Hes much nicer in December.;)

Hi muppett
I know what you mean , theres nothing worse than a sweaty, tired short tempered man on holiday. Mind you hes never wanted to shop as much as he has when in disney, air conditioning shops wonderful cant fault them.
Take care Linda

I have been with the highs were in the 80's and then again when the highs were in the 40's - december is very unpredictable.....

so you need to bring your summer clothes and a few of your winter ones....also be prepared to wear both in the same week....

Yes it is a great time to go - the resorts, theme parks and DD are decorated - so are the other theme parks - SW and US/IOA - everything is so much more.....

If you are staying on property - then get tickets for MVMCP - it is alot of fun. I think they also sell off-site - but not at first....

Have been in December many times. Pack clothes that can be layered on. As it warms up during the day, you can peel off layers, and then add them back as it gets cooler at night.

We were there for Christmas this past year, and it was wonderful. DH talks about going again for Christmas this year. :)

The weather was consistently in the 70s during the day, and maybe in the low 60s/high 50s at night. All I needed to keep warm was a zip up sweatshirt and jeans at night. :teeth: Christmas Day was the coldest day we had, and it was probably in the 60s during the day, low 50s at night. The whole week was sunny and bright, with a 30-second sprinkle of rain at one point.

The decorations were just magical, of course. Disney knows how to do holidays right! ::yes::

Thanks to you all, thats helped me a loads. I will come to disney prepared for any weather just like we do here in England. I was begining to feel we had made a mistake booking for a december visit, but hey surely i cant have a bad time whatever the weather at disney. I feel more positive now thanks.
We have also booked our first disney cruise (3 days on Disney wonder) for the end of our holiday.
Once again thanks Linda

I went the week before Xmas in 2002 and LOVED IT! The decorations and festivities was very contagious and the crowds in that week were very manageable. Don't the miss the Candlelight Procession, either the dinner or just watch the show its very beautiful and moving. We did the dinner package at Land Grill and it was so worth it! We also did MVMCP and it was loads of fun. The weather was beautiful, didn't rain and was 70s to 80s during the day and 60 to 50s at night, we needed a heavy sweatshirt or light jacket. It was much warmer than I expected. You should definitely schedule a day to go see all the hotels and if you can't get to them all don't miss Wilderness Lodge's Tree and the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house, they are amazing! I have pictures online if you would like to see them email me and I will send you the link, I don't know how to post them here. Have a wonderful time!
